I have a question for those of you who have your own patches you started and or watch over.
What is worse for bugs, covering with leaves or leaving them exposed?
I found some pins I have been watching but some sort of worm larvae things has been eating some of them. Was wondering if exposing the patch might prevent as many bugs from gathering under the leaves/ hay. But it seems like an exposed patch would have more chances of being eaten by bigger predators... Any advice? I would hate to see more bug eaten pins. Whenever I take the leave cover off all the visible bugs scatter probably deeper into the myc.

I've been noticing slugs eat away at my home patch but I'm actually not to worried since slugs occurr at every patch , your possibly just monitoring them slugs more often since the patch is close-by. I would think the slugs like hiding beneath the leaves because its more moist and moisture is what usually attracts slugs. I remember finding centipedes at a patch , they were all crawling in the shrooms and spreading spore and shit lol.
Ive been wondering How's your patch is coming along. I made a new patch today and since I've got another month of colonizing , Im hoping there's time to fruit it.
Nexxone-- Congradulations finding your first patches , nice ones they are

I have seen at least one slug and a ton of what look like centipede larvae possibly as well as some sort of frog egg looking things.
Will leave the leaves off for now and see how the extra air exposure treats em.
Been meaning to shoot you a I will do that now while I remember
