I'm so jealous of all of you. None of my spots are popping yet! Only have managed to find a very small patch of cyans that weren't worth picking. Soon... I can feel them coming soon.

im gonna go for a gym hunt in this gnarly habitat i have like a quarter mile from my house. with any luck those'll be my first actives down here in the in-between. not quite the bay area, but not quite the PNW.

mycocoma said: Good to be back on here. I found an epic patch just before the end of the season last year, been very excited to get to watch it from the beginning this year.....unfortunately it seems the local homeless guys in the area have already dug up most of the mycelium and pins leaving holes and busted up pieces of mycelium...ran into the same group of fellas laying down in various parts of the patch picking through mycelium digging out tiny pins on three separate days..I tried to reason with them but they didn't want to listen to anything I had to say. Very sad was such an amazing patch..only had a few other very small patches I found so now I am kind back to square one. there was one patch another user on here pointed me to last year and this year it seems high school kids are killing that one...been there twice now also..once just saw a bunch of fresh scissor cuts, figured that was at the very least a respectful hunter...but soon after the high school kids showed up I walked down the path and heard them screaming at each other in excitement...I walked back over by them they got spooked and I politely asked what they were picking...long story short they were picking the few pins that were left there.....second time there same time of day 4 days later and same kids were in the patch.....
Kinda bumming me out early this year...any one in the area that's down for a hunt?
What's a homeless person going to do with a bunch of wet mushrooms and myc? It was most likely a person with a house that has the means to dry and store them. Homeless people have enough problems.
When I first approached one of the guys he was all sketched out then really quickly got friendly, tried to give me a handful of pins mixed with dirt and leaves and pine needles and told me how he was picking them to sell to kids to try and get a place to stay.....while I feel for him on the homeless part, the ruining of the patch just to harvest a few measly grams of pins sucks for everyone else. Not to mention he said kids.....hopefully he means high school kids....That's all I was saying guys. Bummed out that all of my known patches are being ruined by novices or careless selfish people. The medicine these mushrooms provide is so amazing and it should be respected

Saturday seemed like too good of a day to waste in town, so we packed up our hangovers and drove out to the coast to do some hunting and beach frolicking.

Dpak. I've seen those mushrooms around. Definitely not pellys. I've picked pellys for 20+ years.

Sometimes it's best to just impulsively jump in the car and drive to the coast with the windows down, laughing and singing along to music all the way.
Fuck it. Life is short, and the picking season is even shorter.

Happy to stumble across these little guys on my morning drive around the local campground/parks in Kitsap County, WA. Found these in a old garden bed under a picnic table, campers had no clue! hahaha Keep your eyes on the ground.

After hanging with today I finally noticed he had a log pile across the street from his house in grapeview. Was getting dark figured I'd take a look.

Feel like gyms are finding me this year!
