I suspect a professional crew as that path is also freshly mulched. Fucking tragedy.

Morning hunt turned out to be a success. So many matures, and some just going to waste. I think I might not have competition in this little spot.

Daaaammmmnnn son! That's a nice ass haul. It almost looks like it is glowing blue! What did that end up weighing? Luigi9 and I found 1,200 grams wet in about 20 minutes, but doesn't look like we can even compare to that haul. You seeing this Luigi? Damn we gotta get after it bro!

Ho. Ly. Shit.
I guess spraying spore solution really works! Just looked in two of the wood chip patches where spore solution was sprayed last year and both had larger patches than I have ever seen before! Good thing the city park dudes just put a bunch more wood chip mulch there too

That would possibly bring tears to my eyes just witnessing the glory of a patch that huge.

Great pics to!

If I saw a patch like that I would get down on my knees and bow to it. The amount of mind altering power in that big of a patch deserves respect.
A lot of my older patches are being taken over by insects. They just eat everything under the leaf litter, so mycelium isn't even getting a chance to grow.

Just checked the spot I found a few days ago. Someone came through and hit it with way too much force. There were literally holes dug up where I found them. Looks as if they just pulled the clusters straight out with no regard to the mycelium life force. Real bummer when this happens

Yeah it is quite frustrating. Luckily, I know of a couple spots that as far as I know, are all mine. Just waiting ever so patiently for them to start fruiting. Still pretty dry here.

So after my big day of hunting the other day I went over to my buddy's house who lives down the street to some to do some dabs. He said I should check some mushies he found while I'm here, just in case they are the kinda I hunt for.
MF I find these matures in his fucking back yard....right under the drain/gutter actually.

We just got our first decent rain a week ago and one of the big, well known patches in the SE that I know other people here frequent is already raped to hell and gone. Like not even your standard noob rampage, I'm talking fucking catastrophic destruction of the living organism. It looks like somebody shoveled up a 10 foot long 2 foot wide trench of mulch where the bulk of the patch used to be along a trail and tilled up the remaining stuff into the mud. I found 4 straggling fruits that were deep under cover and they were about 40% developed, not pins but not wavy yet, still a prominent umbo and not sporolating yet, just about where I expected everything to be. It's almost inconceivable considering where the patch is that people who were just collecting could have done that much damage, they would have had to have trash bags or buckets/wheelbarrows to haul off all the missing mulch. It looks to me like it was a purposeful hate crime against the mushroom hunters of Stumptown by the authorities.
If it was on the off chance a crew of tweakers or stupid teen hunters, they are the scum of the earth for what they did to that patch. I usually don't get mad about some pin-raping and inconsiderate hunting but this was fucked.

It's people ravaging patches and taking all the myc. I've seen it plenty of times before and it's not the workers. Not too many people know much about mushrooms and I have a feeling if it was a city policy we'd see a lot of random species removed, easy for people not in the know to make mistakes. I've been trying to work against it spreading spores and stem butt cultures, but there's only so much we can do. I'll start a new patch just for you with the recent spores
