Hope I didn't rape anybody's patch. New to hunting and I turned up some mycelium out of ignorance.
I figure because of how accessible the patch was it must have been being hunted by others, although I've never seen anyone there, or noticed anyone harvesting anything.
My apologies if I did encroach on someones patch. I did leave a lot of young and mature ones behind for others though
It's a learning process

I'll head back to that patch in a few days and replant that mycelium I pulled.
I'll start planting the butts around whenever I go hunting again. Next time I'll snip the things. I feel bad now. Will try to spread them, grow whoevers patch that was.
But I'm done for the season.

Haha, such a passive aggressive response. Don't know how to feel. Fear not, will take care of patches from here on.

Pics. Didn't take pictures at the patch though. You can see how I pulled up the myc. I'm so embarrassed now.

Well all you can do now is make sure all that myc does not go to waste since it has been uprooted already.
Soak some hardwood chips an start a tub would be an easy way to go.
Also, everyone here is killing it! I need to get out more but have not been very motivated since its been so dry.
The only mushrooms I have seen so far this season are big white common lawn fungi...

Affirmative. Would it not work to just plant the mycelium back where I got it, or would it not take hold?

Well by using a tub you can let the myc grow indoors until it is nice and colonized to start a outdoor bed wherever you want.
Since you said you left most of the patch intact it will keep growing on its own most likely so you could just start a new patch or 5

Cool! Thank's for the advice. Will follow. Yeah, I only took a very small fraction of what I found. I also made sure not to take too much from one spot on the patch, just a little here and there.
I'll stop flooding this thread with my crap now.

So I know one of you might try to get on my head about the rules but I dont want to make an ID thread for a simple yes or no answer... I'm pretty sure I found some Pan Cincts in my friends backyard, blackish gills and one to two toned caps that are slight orange in the nipple area and greyish on the rest of the cap, found in long healthy grass that was fertilized and also in an area that was ugly unhealthy grass..

Just check the prints, those gills dont look like they hang very low, and the stipes look lil frail. But foes and cints both show strange phenotypes that look allot alike. Nice job!

Are foes the ones that are brown that kinda look like cincts but have brown ugly gills? Cause those were growing along with these in the backyard and the brown gilld ones had weak stems. The ones in the pics above had crisp stems even though very skinny and the gills were a distinct grey black at young age to dark black in the bigger capped ones.. as for the gills hanging low, you could say they were almost hanging out of the caps, they forsure all met even with the brim of the caps though.

I shall submit these Pan Cints for your enjoyment, found sporadically on a giant pile of horse manure/sawdust in the Yamhill Co.
