Really? In Lynnwood? I'm in Bothell, got the impression actives were kinda rare around here compared to Seattle or what have you. Were they cyans? It wasn't me just curious...sorry to hear about someone raiding ya.

Found some cyanescens in Seattle with Fryers Quest. Just pins though, someone had been there before. And then, we spotted another hunter. Cool dude. He said we could share.

They are rare for sure. The closer to seattle you get the better. I was with skagit hunter for the new find today. After an hour we found a patch...that was in Seattle.

Are cyans so common in Seattle because of unique habitat in the city or because of the number of cultivated backyard patches releasing spores over the years?
Here are some shots from a recent collection.

I haven’t found any Cincts or Gyms here. I am positive there will be cinctulus out here come spring and summer though.

Here are some shots from a recent collection.

Combination of the two. People have been hunting, seeding patches intentionally and inadvertantly through guerilla grows and unintentional spore dispersal for years and years, but none of those patches would have taken on and thrived the way they do if the Puget Sound area didn't have the ideal microclimate for mushrooms.
People act like the whole PNW is a mycological wonderland, and sure, it's pretty good all over, but the Puget Sound area is off the fucking charts amazingly good, I drive the 3 hours up to the Olmypic range from PDX for some of my chanterelle and candy cap spots a couple times every season, it's just so much better up there than it is down here that it's worth the drive to load up a few times, and compared to anywhere else I've lived outside the PNW, Portland has some pretty damn good hunting.
I get jelly every time you Seattle peeps post your fibs, baeos and stunzii, they are just too damn rare down here.

The sound area has blown my mind with the varieties of mushrooms that you can find.
Even in one square foot you could see 5-6 different types of mushrooms.

Was already planning to head out that way this week. I've found some good spots that aren't too far, but nothing that touches that coastal old growth up north. Like I said, Oregon is good, but the Sound area is just
