Really excited. I have never found a Beao before. I am 100% certain this is a Psilocybe, about 70% sure it is a Beao. It was solitary, in deciduous mulch. I scoured the area for pins but all I saw was mycelium. The mycelium was a bit wispy like some have said. I really don't think this is Stuntzii due to the amount of bluing and there is no annulus. You guys be the judge.

That's a tough one but I'd say no to baeo and maybe it's a fib? Baeos usually have pretty wavy cap margins and gills as well. The gills one your specimen look like they got chomped on a bit too so it's hard to say. I'm going with fib though.

Baeo or not I still wouldn't eat it. Doesn't look all that great. It might be my phone but it looks more like rot than blueing. Probably just a fib.

It's got the lil point on the top like the beos I've found, never found a fib before but from pics they don't seem to exhibit that feature as prominently. Just an observation but I'd say beo imo, the wispy myc sounds right too.

It is for sure bluing. There is no rot, even though the gills are chomped to bits. The margin was wavy but this little guy was so young i dont think he had time to develop. I wasnt going to eat it anyways....just was excited to find something new
I wish i had a microscope...im attempting to print it but i am doubtful it will drop much. I am just going to keep my eyes on that spot and see if anything fruits as the season progresses. It's still really dry.

I tend to find fibs and baeos in the same areas, sometimes even right next to each other. The nipply cap is definitely a baeo thing so maybe I spoke too soon.

Gorgeous... awfully large nipple though. Reminds of an azure. I'm still waiting for my experiment to give me something. Soon I hope!

Oooh now I'm getting excited to look. I'll probably fail hardcore like the last two years though. Found plenty of edibles, but only one single cyan ever. I guess I've only been looking two seasons though nice find tho everybody

Sweet, I went and checked on some of MY FOUND (happy?) patches that didn't fruit last year and there was mycelium everywhere. I can't wait to see what happens soon.
So hey, more post of finds or info and less whining, whiners.

I don't know if posting a gallery is cool, but it was quick to upload and I didn't know how to pick the best images. Happy mushroom hunting this fall season, the lunar eclipse tonight was amazing! : D
This was 500ft above sea level, near Lake Washington, in a microclimate that drained water to the patch. Look for herbacious perennial groundcovers, this patch was especially fond of growing amidst erodium, native blackberry vines and perennial/annual weeds. Surprisingly, underneath deciduous ocean spray, beaked hazel and big-leaf maple. It usually would have been hidden by leaves by the time the rains hit, but environmentally, this has been an unusual year for our region and the trees have been affected by the summer's drought, giving pro's and con's to fungal activity, i'm hoping for good edible occurence the next two months! You can feed a village with cooperation with our forest!! Shroomery is a great website for Psilocybe related mushroom identification. I am glad that this forum is acting as a safe reference for the use as natural anti-depressants and to aid in self-therapy or spiritual acknowledgement near the end of life! Rather than the misuse of different mushroom species or abuse of other pharmaceutical substances. Sorry to get political but some chemicals and organic bodies (Cannabis & Psilocybe) that surround their existence should not be placed on the schedule I of U.S. drug policy, opposed to abused substances being on schedule II. The organic bodies serve much purpose besides intoxicating stigmas, Psilocybe is present in a great deal of mulch in the PNW and is a good contender for rapid decomposition in restorative areas. I apologize again for prolonging this post, but thank you for allowing awareness within this forum that species identification is beneficial, "shroom-hunting" can be dangerous if too ignorant.

Wow, if you were paying attention to where my questions were directed I was just asking about the cyans everyone had been posting about. It's pretty easy to understand what the thread was about. I had no idea mushroom communities were filled with such annoying and self righteous pricks. I think I'm pretty much done with this site. At first it seemed to be a pretty open minded and welcoming place, but it's pretty plain that a lot of you guys are just fucking assholes and it's a goddamn pity that your interest in nature, or mushrooms of any sort hasn't done anything to help you find a more positive space in your life and to make you a better person.
Maybe you are still a decent person, and it is still mostly the fault of the internet that allows you to so freely act this way, and if that is the case, then the internet really is not as great of a thing as we have all made it out to be.
What a sad waste of my time.
