it's incredible the rate at which a patch (non-cultivated small 8inch by 8inch areas of mycelium) will expand if you rip the shit out of it, mix fresh (but somewhat leached) woodchips into it, water, and cover with leaves. literally in two weeks you can double the volume of mycelium. what's the deal with springtime cyanescens? if the patch is well kept will it fruit or are there far more variables?

I was wondering if azures have hit senescence yet, or what you folks experience on the coast this time of year and coming. The temperatures are very wonky with El NiƱo and some areas a steady 55/45 split for awhile. Areas have had their frosts and come back multiple times already and some of you have been killing it. There's gotta be a point in which it calls it quits regardless of environmental factors being great, right? They gotta get tuckered out.

It's more about the nutrient cycle. Spring temps will be here soon enough anyway.

I know that's a really old post, but one of my cyanescen spots has one of those plants, and they fucking LOVE it. Like, they're coming out of all sides on the bottom. Not the best pic because it was really hard to take a picture of, but you get the idea:

RB that nest cluster is cool! Seeing a heron in its nest seems rare.

Not really rare if you no were there nests are. Thats in BHam. The biggest rookery in this part of the world is in Anacortes WA. Its crazy when they come home to roost in the evening theres hundreds and hundreds lookin like crazy dinosaurs crash landing in there tiny nests.Highway 20 just over the bridge take casino exit but turn left rather than right. cant miss them.

It's ironic to see that Shell oil refinery plant next to an aquatic preserve lol. Then we got you dragging your legs tripping on dinosaurs landing in undersized nests. I like it! I'll take the family there for a field trip.
