They made a really convenient "images only" button for checking mushroom porn. Try it out and you'll see lots of pics, several by me too.
What have you contributed to the thread this season? Some old pin? LMAO at the irony.

I was surprised to see some fungi in this pot. Held up pretty good before this recent frost at it's location. Fall season is officially over for me, and It was a good year

Couple of stranglers (A pot from last year) I kinda want to eat them for a pseudo symbolic moment. Yea, I'm over that thought.

Somehow the only patch going for me still is the one at 300m elevation with no leaf cover. Just full exposure to sun all day.

The grass I inoculated seems to have taken off with the azzie mycelium, I just hope I can keep it alive and growing long enough to get it into the ground. I was thinking about transferring both to a sterile cooler for more space and temperature control. Any suggestions or previous experiences you old shroomers can share? Theres not much on the internet about using dune grass for cultivation it seems like everybody uses wood chips.
I bought some hickory mesquite chips for smoking and just soaked them with azure spore wash. The mycelium is doing pretty well. If your working towards an outdoor project, I'd soak some wood chips overnight and mix them with the grass. There is a chance to transfer the project. It doesn't have to be too sterile since its going outdoors.

Earlier in the season I did the same with some cyans. Those chips are now networking with a orange New Zealand sedge (Corex testacea). Even though the substrate is frozen the mycelia seem to be surviving.

I am more of a hunter than... I have failed outdoor and indoor experiments several occasions. keep asking around. Use this site search bar^. Check the cultivation forum. Paul Stamets growing medicinal and gourmet mushrooms has a bunch of information on growing wood lovers. Reasearch techniques on growing Stropharia rugosoannulata in outdoor beds. Most wood lovers cultivate similarly. Good luck.

Okay so.
It doesn't look like much.
Outside of being my first 2016 psilocybe azurescens (still smiling!), this thing was growing the weirdest way.
A ton of sand encompassed a pine cone. I followed from point A to B and it appeared to have gone from the cone to a nearby stick, which then proceeded to get a fully colonized internal core, spread onto some pine needles and created this fruit body.
I've never seen anything like it before, and like I said it ain't much, but showed me something amazingly cool. I went out needing two butts and two prints.
Found two mushrooms.
Stem was approximately five inches long on a nickel-to-quarter sized cap.
I'm happier now than when I pulled 20g out of there last week.
Man I love this hobby.

any of you hunters dream about mushrooms? I had a dream that I found a bunch of azures on the coast. only thing showing was their caps at the sand level.. their stems were buried.
cool dream considering Ive never found azures and Ive never hunted on the coast.
had lots of cyan dreams as well.
anyways, to keep with the flow of pics on the board, here is a frozen cyan on a woodchip!

That sounds like a cool dream. psilocybe dreams are commonplace for me...
Thanks it was a cool little find. Had to take a pic.... makes me think about making trinkets with mushrooms.

Definitely on the dreams. When I started to get in the groove of things, I'd have very lucid dreams of the ground I covered and my subconscious I guess helped me along. The trips were equally as helpful. I'd frequently see habitats I walked by or mistakes I made or simple overlooked things that I wish I had known going in. Best way to put it I guess is defragging my experiences into something useful. Case in point was going to the W/NW coast and pulling nothing one day to a jackpot in the dunes upon revisiting. These things do have a pull to them. I see why you guys call it the "fever". I'd assume like everything else constantly on one's mind. Either way, very reflective experiences, helpful and jeez the mushroom visuals while tripping was really most helpful of all. Really helped putting the stray pieces together and getting a handle on this. Next season is going to rock.
