Azzies seem to have died off from what I can tell from my last couple of ventures but I WAS lucky enough to find a couple stragglers.. Just enough to initiate operation DUMB DUMB TEK. I grabbed a bunch of grass from the area where I found them, took it all home, mixed the caps with fresh rain water and poured it over a mixture of 75% beach grass 25% native soil/sand. covered the lids in parchment paper and stuck them in the drafty basement. About one week in and two of the pots have some agressive white myc looking material coming in on the top, I cant see through them so I can only imagine its doing it through multiple spots hopefully. I'm hoping this crazy winter keeps up, the temps will be perfect!

For a second I thought I'd traveled back in time TO OCTOBER. Then I was like oh yeah I'm stoned. But for reals. I couldn't believe my eyes. I expected to see some mushrooms today but this was incredible. Some of the spots have crazy amounts of chip to eat.

I'm stuck at work until next year. C'mon folks, help a sailor out with some PNW mushroom porn.
Well, this worked last time: Let's see some mushies!

I'm planning on doing a bit of hunting tomorrow...don't get your hopes up though. I'll definitely see some fungus but finding something like yesterday's finds is a long shot.

Just found my first cyans since moving to the PNW. I had almost given up the hunt for the season, but decided to go out and got so lucky. Only a few stragglers, but definitely excited.

Found about 125 to 150 of these.
Very ripe, nothing like the caramel we saw in November. Nickel to quarter size. Some half dollar stunners considering the conditions this past week.
There were overly ripe matures that I was more than happy to spread all over my rubber boots and pants. That place is already hopping anyway but hey why not!
Brought a water bottle and slurried the heck out of it too. Was hard to go anywhere without finding them. Didn't really even have to look, but I found mature and dying specimens 2-3cm stipe / 1cm cap.
Morning started off cold and I was worried of frost, but when the sun came out, I was sweating like Shaq at the free-throw line.
Wife drew the line in the sand. Was my last hunt until next year. Gotta keep the lady happy, and there was quite a bit of ice on my way there.
SW Oregon. Tiny ones just all over the place despite the flail threshers having been there within the past week.
Nothing special and I bet they're weak but hey whatever.

Dude I don't know how you do it, but you always impress the heck out of me.
I'm eyeing a house out in the country. I cannot freakin wait. Some of those out of the way places and farms. Work the land. Maybe do DoT work or forestry I haven't decided yet. Got a job offer today for fiber optic engineering, so we will see. Saw some guys boring through roads while getting lost because I guess roads falling down a hill is a fairly regular thing.
Weedsmokingasian I hope you had better luck than I did!
Sunroom73 - congrats on the find and double congrats for late season! Good work! I've yet to find any city cyans, I love the coastal mix of the cyan complex, and being alone to screw around if I want. I envy all of you who have it in you to ninja that shit and do your job and jet!
