This late in the season. I would suggest a few stem butts to cardboard.Nice Patch.Meaning plucking a few attached isn't going to hurt anything. Of course. Just my opinion.

Thanks fellas, I consider myself lucky to have found any at all. This thread has been very helpful for IDing and narrowing my hunting focus.    I'm an experienced tripper  but it's been a few years since I have participated so Im quite excited to try these.

Patience has been the biggest challenge for me.  Anyone could spot these and easily snag them all.  If I didn't already have a jar of dried cyanescens I priobsbly would have gotten antsy and done something drastic.  At this point these are just going to be Christmas gifts for some friends

I'm interested in colonizing my own, this patch seems to be very aggressive and would be great genetics to clone.  Has anyone been successful with introducing a few colonized chips to virgin chips in a planter box?  I don't have the time or space for anything fancy, and wouldn't be too disappointed if it took a couple years to start producing.

Content:  This is the haul I pulled from a more exposed patch in the same area just before the worst of the frost last month.  You see what I mean about the slug bites on the gills?  A fair amount of these have already been slurried out of cation, but what do you think about consuming an otherwise immaculate mushroom?

Totally fine to eat ones with slug damage, as long as there are not signs of rot and you are certain it is slugs causing the damage. Little tiny holes that look like they came from something inside the mushroom could be a sign of worms/maggots, I'd stay away from those cause of tummy aches.
It's like any other produce, a few bites shared with slugs won't hurt you, if the slug has eaten most of the cap it still won't hurt you.
Your specimens look far better than most that people ask about consuming. Dry them before ingesting, just my suggestion for any questionable fruits. But yours look immaculate, even the slightly slug damaged ones.

Thanks for your response.  I've been drying them all to crackers and I prefer to make tea when consuming.  I must ask just to put my mind at ease.  I'd hate to ingest and then question the quality of my mushrooms.  Happy hunting everyone.

Wow, nice going everyone! Found a few more myself today.

The big one on top was 2.4g. I know they get lots bigger still, but it's my biggest. Wonder what it would have weighed if half the cap weren't missing.

I know that.  so which should I hunt?  Libs are potent but what are the best chances this late in the season.  I love hunting chantrelles most because their in elevation and in the mountains (my favorite place to be) but I think they are probably long gone.  I dont have opportunites to go out hunting cause I work so much or I else I wouldnt be asking.

What city are you in my friend

I have good luck finding cyans just going to all the city parks in my area and also stopping along the way at the schools and churches that have nice looking wood chips that they have landscaped with

Some of us went for libs around your area not long ago. Pulled nothing from areas that were rich in them 4-6 weeks ago. Cyans, azures, and whatever the hell is going on with crossbreeding are out there. I went to take a leak at a structure near the ocean and it was pretty protected from the elements. They couldn't have been further than five feet away, up to and including some specimens fifteen feet away. Scattered in microclimates. My guess is people's shoes and dogs or whatever bring spores out of the patches and no one notices since it seems no one ever looks in those areas. Also found pan subb not far away in the horse trails. This wasn't long ago either.

I've found Cyans at those mini rest stops along logging roads. Not a ton but a good bit. I forget exactly where you're at so I can't really help too much more than that. Best of luck on your hunts, but I'd venture a guess you're better off skipping the libs and using that wasted time as productive time driving to areas in which actives are still throwing up fruits.

Its crazy how many actives even the seasoned veterans can pass up in any particular area without going straight grid status, like my elf homie says "they like to play hide and seek", I always feel like I'm walking right past them constantly. I've been doing a bunch of research into edibles so that I don't feel like a jackass when I'm foraging the forests. I've spent a much higher amount of time scouring forests with no avail other than random lbms and amanitas and armillarea, though I feel those times are behind me as I was gifted with some awesome field experience rolling with the forest elves this year. Its crazy how much some of you old souls have learned about fungus foraging, and those of us who want to learn thank those of you with the knowledge and the willingness to share.

I gave a friend some azzies and their study wasn't as exciting or stimulating as I figured it to be. Same batch that knocked a hard tripper of a friend and I right on our asses at 2g, but these guys ate like 3 and said they weren't very impressed. LIKE, WTF!? My psychonaut homie couldn't even hold himself together enough to get a beer at the fort and these "normies" are eating the flesh of the gods like its candy.. Any opinions or anybody who just doesn't feel it too? My thought is that they are just getting "wasted" and are entirely missing the truly trippy aspects of the study. Which for me consists mainly of the paradoxical thought loops, increase in thinking from philosophical "modes" of thought, general confusion when not deeply pondering said philosophical views, and the overall "we're all infinite, we are all one" spiritual unity with the universe... Still scratching my head here.

^ These two posts.

The other night I dosed 2g of a cyan/azure bag just to get a bit of a head high and ended up crying my eyes out re-evaluating my life for nearly 8 hours in nearly ego death. I still wasn't right the next morning and couldn't sleep and dared not to drive. I'm homogenizing everything now even if it's just a few ounces. That was the hardest I've tripped since I ate half a strip of white-on-white LSD.

Lol Dys sounds like a fun time! I dosed about 4-5g the other day. It was a few days after lemon tekking an 8th. Didn't feel anything for like 2 hrs. My friends ate 2-3grams and were tripping balls within 30 minutes. I had taken a Xanax that day and I figured the benzo overpowered the psilocybin and I had a slight tolerance buildup. I had very mild visuals but very good feeling of drunkenness and body high. I also ate like 3 cheeseburgers and fries lol
