Whatcom county WA-seems this is around the time shovels and trash bags come out and ruin the late season flush.

I have to put leaves back on every other day from wind too. Long twigs can do wonders, camouflage, and the leaves can handle way higher gusts with them too. Like bungee cords on a load.

I went back, decided the best time would be early in the Am so it's be light out and chances are no one in the house would be awake. The patch was maybe 4 feet from their front door, on woodchips under a very large 15' primrose mixed in with some weeds and a few standing tall under the primrose . Didn't get any in situ shots because I wanted to hurry, the largest fruit was 3.5" across. There were 2 other flushes of equally large caps that were black and spoiled.

Very nice ayeplus I'm jealous. I found some cyanescens next to dune grasses under some brambles. They are smaller. First time I've found psilocybe in a different town. Off to check my next spot.

...sorry to trouble you folks but I've not had luck on woodlovers in the cult forum.
Just wondering if anyone noticed a drastic potency loss in psilocybe azurescens in the areas troubled by wildfires and dune erosion & flooding this year. It makes sense from a mycological standpoint (right?). Less grass less wood? I've got some number one stunners from some places and others are no better than cubes. Very glad I label things. All dried the same and treated the same (OCD) but just, wow, some kind of let me down, man.

Went out to check my spots today, only saw rotting fruits. In places where there was an abundance of mushrooms (not just active) I saw almost nothing. seems the cold has pretty much put an end to the season.

I didn't find any Liberty Caps this year...
Perhaps they're resting.
Didn't see many pics of em this year either..
Hopefully next year there will be more... I remember finding a bunch the same year I found a four leaf clover : )

I've already packed my bags for another coastal tourist trip. I hate driving up it though. It's gorgeous and totally worth it so why not. Last chance for a year I'm thinking. Make the best of it.

It'll be worth it tho for sure I got to get a fuckin dehydrator. I put them in on low which is usually under 200 degrees. I check it 30 minutes later for some reason it's blazing hot like 350 degrees my ovens a piece of shit. Luckily they didn't dry out too quick they're about half dry already I'm just going to finish fan drying til I get a dehydrator

Fan dry then desiccant if you can't afford the dehydrator. It's the stuff in Damp-Rid; you never want your mushrooms touching it. It takes longer. You have a lot of specimens, and some older late season ones, buy one. Those Temps can kill your goodies.

Yeah I had to snatch a bunch of the little packets from wallets at Walmart. I'm gonna buy one soon as I can afford it.
