Today's finds. There's a few babies I'm going to leave alone for a few days before any freeze comes then I'll harvest.

It's gotten pretty warm up here in the PNW, you might want to check your patches. I know we had a frost, but it was quick, and then we got good rain and now it's very humid. Might get some nice 2nd flushes. (Sorry if I'm talking too much about the weather)
I'm going to check a couple spots tonight.

I'm hitting some places that I was at earlier this season. They looked good. This thread and habitat photos (and sage advice) have helped immensely.
I'm getting antsy, I need more exercise too. The worst that can happen is I see some cool places again before winter.
I'd like to see three parks that had fresh alder this year or last. I'm too new at this to tell, and I saw some mulchers earlier this autumn, be nice to see what's up.

Checked my usual spot today found a couple more small patches. Went mostly to check growth and see how the weather was affecting them. Saw lots of pins here and there. Even saw cyanescens pins under some brambles. I picked up two Walmart bags full of trash too. I figure even though lots of people litter and I might not make a big difference by picking up trash, maybe Mother Earth will notice and appreciate my efforts lol.

Checked on some spots today and found a few rather large flushes. No pictures but I am planning on uploading a bunch of pictures from throughout the season that my girlfriend took on her Pentax MX-1.

If anyone's travelling 101/103 this coming week. Watch your warnings.
When I hit the coast the other day day new GPS refused to let me go that way and on the way home, the flooding and widow makers and rocks explained it all. That 50 mile stretch is near worse than the trek across highway 30 through the mountains. There was a lot of watching other cars slowly going over water unsure of how deep it was. Going to be worse. Be safe, driving or hunting. Saw one fallen rock darn near the size of my car that looked like they dragged it across the road. Be nice if they moved it further off the road tho.
I was hunting a park earlier this season and found my way to an abandoned open field. A dead tree decided to just topple over. I had been near it a little earlier and still sounded like a gunshot 200 yards away. Just like to be sure you guys and gals stay safe.
