There is a strong possibility, I haven't ever seen cyans get so blue. The caps upturned in a couple of the fruits in this patch so thats why I assumed both strains were present. May be more environmental influences than anything, but i thought allenii stayed convex. Or maybe I do have both.

Hey who the fuck is Epic Duo? You destroyed my chanterelle patch in clatsop last year and left me an artist conk and litter. You also parked on my pelliculosa.
I thought about you fuckers today <3 Hope you're doing well

The Willamette valley area is definitely done for, its been frozen-solid for nearly a week now so unless the patch is inside or it heats up and starts raining again, it's over. The coast normally doesn't freeze as hard and as often so you might still get some use out of it.

My bad- I didn't look at the third picture. I think you're right- looks like they're both there! The ones in the left look like cyans. Is that where the cyan myc was? (Not that it necessarily matters given the mycelial network's propensity to move and dance. That being said- I'm incredibly new to the wild identifying thing and newer still to having an acct and posting rather than just lurking so all that should be taken with a few shakers of salt. I apologize if this is all off topic but I'm hoping that with the season done or (hopefully) just dormant, if this is a transgression it can be forgiven.
EDIT REASON: only first sentence posted last time

I found my first patch of cyans in December after 2 weeks of freezing rain. They had a half inch of ice on the caps and it was about 20 degrees, nearly all we're healthy yet. That was in the valley. It's all about the microclimates, south facing hills protected from east-west winds, near a size able body of water or even a swampy field. The coast will produce all winter in the right areas, yes. Obviously last year was unusual, but I think the season only really "ends" when people stop looking for them.
Give it a couple weeks, unless snow starts accumulating below 200 ft it's still on
In my opinion.

Checking out some coastal areas tomorrow. Lot of microclimate areas. Going to have to go elbow deep I'd imagine.
I could use some vibes or prayers tomorrow morning at sunrise (7:41am). A brave man who put his life on the line every day to save lives is now taking his first and final trip to the Pacific.
Sorry for offtopic, maybe I can redeem myself the next few days.
Stay hunting... I went to six health food stores looking for gelatin capsules. Everyone is buying them left and right apparently in Salem. I can only imagine why.

The Valley should still be producing but likely in areas in which there are nearby buildings or some other source of heat (bacterial decay trapped under leaf litter). I'd really like to see what you folks come up with in the next week.
And randal, finally found them, should've gone there first. They charged me regular price for 10 bags of 100 capsules. If only I could find chips other than hickory. I really very much miss L&M fleet farm. You could walk in and get everything on the cheap (sometimes even barter) and walk out with everything you'd need for the kind of stuff azur pumps out.

Sorry about the shit photos, but pretty happy to see my leaf blanked kept them warm last week. Looking forward to seeing the flush develop now that the frost risk is gone for the foreseeable future. The adjacent water body is probably what's keeping them warm.

very cool! i went out today as well and found some that were damaged by all the frost but i also found a few spots with very nice healthy ones still in the same area. a few spots with healthy pins i look forward to seeing what they will turn into in the next week *crosses fingers*
im also hoping that there will be less compitition in my spots now that we have had very solid freezes. it would be so nice to see a patch get real mature!

You folks on the coast are in for a doozy. I literally didn't see any azurescens smaller than my hand with my fingers spread out. Of course they were rotten, but something good is going on, they were the biggest I've seen all season there.
Indicator species were all over the place under grass but smaller and weathered. I was surprised hypho, mycena and gals were still "good". Heck, boletes were going nuts. I wouldn't call it quits just yet if you haven't found anything this season.
I'm tapping out for the coast. Dangerous roads now. I hope you folks have a very long season, and find fresh fruits the size of your hand. Don't write off mosses.. I found a hunk of wood covered in it amongst mycena under a pine. New one for me to see an azure that big hanging around the base of a conifer.
Man, just a whole stretch of them, one right after another after another. If they were fresh that would've been amazing. Didn't even have to get elbow deep for some spots. They're just laying around. I bet they've got a lot more in store, and I hope you folks find em.
Thank you all for the wonderful season. It's been a blast and you're all good people.
Hope to see some of you in cultivation if you have winter projects.
