What's up with the cyans being first so many places this year? Usually cints, stuntzii, beos ,oviods and occasionally fibs, show up first then libs then the cyans and azzies.
They just seem so early. I wonder if the drought provokes them to want to migrate. Whatever the case I'm cool, cyans are the best overall active pnw mushy anyhow. Imo anyway, always find a bunch just about anywhere and everywhere and they got the smoothest ride when respected.
Just realized I may have answered my own question. I bet the rest are out, but most people are prolly looking for the cyans.

Well mycelium loves the heat. Makes it to grow. The cold endangers it, so they fruit the mushroom. They dont need water to live. In fact, the water threatens them, so they produce mushrooms to release the water, so the myc. Doesnt flood out. Being a drought, the myc, was prolly growing great. And since the recent, abrupt, spike downward in temps, prolly caused them to fruit. Its been a very hot year up nd down the west coast.

I don't know why people always want to take the easy route. It is so much better to find these things on your own.

Read online everything about the mushroom, look at many different pictures, then go look in that mushrooms specific climate, then anything you think may be good take pictures. Post the pictures on here and get ID request first. Make sure you get good pictures of close up in environment and if possible take pick of gills. Don't just pick the mushrooms you don't know about. Get an identification from professional or many opinions first.

So it seems that I found my first ever Psilocybe Baeocystis!!!

after I got home... then I noticed Bruising
It was growing all by its lonesome but there were Stuntzii and some Foes nearby keeping it company. Spore print tomorrow because if turns out to be my only specimen I want a 24hr deep drop! Here is my ID post before I added it to this thread http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/22270876
Happy Hunting

Wow....nice one Mushrello.
I found some Cinctulus just as I was about to call it a day. They were big. But I almost got my fucking hand chewed off by the monster that was protecting them. I have never ever seen a spider like this in Washington and I have lived here most of my life. If anybody has seen one like this before let me know. If you look closely it has yellow eyes.
EDIT: Not a sign of one liberty cap....not yet. 2nd EDIT: This spider is not shown on this website: http://www.spiders.us/species/filter/washington/
So what the hell is this thing??

I found my first cyans of the season today! Growing on an irrigated lawn on a downward slope next to a fancy pond with a fountain, at an apartment complex under some type of pine tree. I might post more pictures of the patch itself since there were a dozen soft little brown mushrooms waiting to get big enough to drop their spores. These five were eager to start drying. Sorry it's a bad picture I am just excited to share, though it's nothing special, this can be a sign to keep checking damp lawns early in the season for small patches before obsessing over mulch beds with gregarious fruiting that occur with another 2-3 weeks of good rain.
