Yah all my gyms are brown mush sinking into the chips... Bye bye...

I'm amazed by the stunztii they're in open raised beds, I'm betting the temperature of the composting pile is keeping them warm.

Pellies are the winners for sure I've seen em grow from solid ice before!

And some of my cyans are green with envy...

Or green with something anyway...  old, cold, and mold...

Here's a picture from today. It's a spot I know about that tends to fruit later in the season. Covered with all kinds of dead vegetation in a sunken bed next to a building. There's another place I've been checking all season and just found a couple of pins coming up. I don't know if they'll get very big, but was surprised to see them.

I can't speculate as to why the late fruiting, but the adjacent building will emit long-wave radiation at night, keeping the fungi warm. Combined with the vegetated pit, sounds like a great late season spot you've got there

Exposure: It was comical watching the wind peel away all the leaves and pine needles i covered this spot up with last night.
Also comical is being followed around Bellingham but playing dumb when caught. You would learn way more about finding what your looking for and actually take some home if you just stop stalking and start talking. Don't be scared. Several times this season i was prepared to turn over the complete area i was at(And i wouldn't be there unless i had good reason.) To the person who was hunting the same area but Always acted sketch and walked away only to return to hide in the bushes to watch from afar. That shit will get you popped for being a predator. Kinda odd to see a grown man pepping the area through the bushes. Just saying.

You few no who you are. Now its a little late in the game. But if you pm me i will at least turn you in the right direction so you at least can gather some specimens. That way you can do your part and spreads some love for the next guy/season.(Meaning you can gather some frozen specimens for scientific purposes or just observe and see how nature wraps up the big show?
Its hard to believe with the amount of fruits in any givin proper habitat that i still see people looking in the totaly wrong habitat.Yet overlooking and in some cases walking right through the proper habitat. Remember: An area the size of your average residential yard could have numerous habitats with in.

This is all just my opinion so take it as you want But please quite stalking me my friends.

Feel like a pussy for letting some cyans go but it was sketch as fudge in that park at that hour. I could have cyans and azzies going right now :bored:

The azzies are doing awesome though!

I hope whomever is around Salem getting those cyans near the river finds azurescens next year. Nearly broke my neck getting in there and used a lot of spore water.

My modest haul from this morning. This will be my final dose for this season, unless I decide to make some gym tea (doubtful). I don't think there's anything wrong with 'cleaning house' as long as you  leave a good amount of matures to rot back into the ground. And yes, I do plan on making cardboard spawn with the stem butts.I already have some going but they're just now beginning to colonize so nothing really worth looking at.

Also, gyms were fine a few days ago. I may go check and see how bad they're hurting today, as these photos were taken last thursday.

Edit: Meant to say thank you to N05482 for the timely response after I asked for confirmation on the active gymnopilus sp. that I found. I kinda felt like a dick for not at least saying thanks, and then I kept meaning to and forgetting. I know you aren't  a TI, but I trust (considering your experience and hunting skills) that you wouldn't have replied unless you were pretty damn sure of what you were saying. They do appear to be luteofolius, or at least our west coast variety. Whatever it is.

Found these in the park today after the frost. Would have gotten a lot more but too many people in the park wish no one was there I'd have a gold mine probably. Are they still good to eat after frost? I picked a lot of babies but left plenty as well. Plan on going back to spread spores. I found a good spot but noticed someone else had taken most of it after the first couple of times going there.

I would expect it to be the same time mushrooms are releasing spores?

Yea only time I've had success with next year fall fruit has been fresh Myc direct to small amount of chips sat in a corner then put out in the spring.  Maybe a bit of water added during summer but usually just let it dry out.

Although the stones I add keep it kinda moist also in the summer you can see it gets ropy and shoots down towards the soil.

It never stops just gotta look differnt areas and switch up the type of mushroom.

You can start making trips south and possibly have success.

Just curious, what are the latest-season cyan finds you guys have made in Seattle? A couple of years ago, I found a small but healthy patch of mature cyans under leaves during the first week of December.
