Didn't keep anything, because I'm getting too old and don't need the trouble, but I was really impressed by the size and bluing on these babies found in the middle of Seattle post frost. ..still firm. ...other than the gross black goo ones....frost must have liquified the caps (obviously no good). But I showed a friend a picture of them and he said they were dangerous to eat post frost, then asked if I'd tell him where I saw them. ...my response was, I'll tell you tonight if anyone can confirm or deny that these type of dried tan ones (not the slimey black ones) are safe to even pick. ...snow is coming the best 2 days.

Tan ones are fine. Very nice bluing too.
I think I am done for the season. School work has piled high and I went for a late night hunt only to find mushrooms entirely frozen. I found a new patch at an elementary school but somebody seemed to have picked over it pretty good. For some reason I had it in my mind that elementary schools would be relatively unpicked, I guess I was wrong. Anybody have any final thoughts on libs in Snohomish county? Are they still out there?

VedicSoma said: Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is commonly used to treat certain types of acute movement disorders.
I don't think the cause is due to "histamine" in the wood-lovers. We don't know the toxin responsible or exactly how it works, but it is likely it has some affinity for the histamine receptors, and/or interferes with dopamine-modulated movement, causing paralysis, difficulty initiating movement, cramping, and/or dystonia.
If the H1 blockers like Benadryl work as treatment, it is very likely that the H2 blockers (cimetidine (Tagamet), ranitidine (Zantac), famotidine ( Pepcid ) will work as well, with less sedation.
Benadryl (H1 blocker) and all three of the above H2 blockers are available over the counter. I would like for you PNW guys to try this out and report back with your findings.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7556545
From Wikipedia on diphendyramine (Benadryl):
As a potent antagonist to acetylcholine in muscarinic receptors, diphenhydramine is used to treat Parkinson's disease-like extrapyramidal symptoms caused by antipsychotics. The muscarinic receptor antagonism leads to correction of levels of dopamine, the neurotransmitter responsible for control of motor function in the brain, similar to the effect of other antimuscarinic agents such as atropine.
In Some circles i know. Benadryl is used to come down if you have taken to much. My opinion on the subject is "Shits just potent"
Just returned from Oregon ( Started my Mothers journey by spreading her ashes in the Mckenzie River). Places covered with leaves seem to be doing just fine. The last few days, you guys have made some nice posts/pictures. Great Job.

There is a good discussion about it here: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/20849882 It definitely is a thing though. Some people get the paralysis, I get the pain which lasts for the first third of the trip.

Oh god, is it that deep gut-punch pain that kinda feels like you got kicked in the nuts and punched in the stomach during bad food poisoning but you can't throw up? Sits so deep in my gut. Whenever that goes through the roof, the ability to coordinate movements and the couch lock effect are in full swing.

So here's a update series of pics on my cultivated bit of betas miq.

They don't seem to be acting like any cyans I've grown or seen. The color seems off, like a lil to yellow, and They seem the have a rather pronounced nipple too. The myc also looks different than cyan myc imo.
Any ideas on species? I'm sending some off for testing but figured I'd post em too.

If i had to guess a species other than cyans it would be P. subaeruginosa

I had some grassland cyans that looked identical to yours, almost mistaked for azures, I just think their growing conditions determines their height potency and cap waviness, awesome little fruiting pile of wood chips they look beautiful

You've got to admire the perseverance of this late-season family of cyans. They seem to appreciate the 6 inches of leaves I've buried them under for these sub-zero nights.

My new giant stuntzii patch is still going too! Stopped by to say good bye and they said hello! They seem to be lil more resistant to the cold than cyans.

I find it interesting watching to see what survives the cold. Gymnopilus hate it. At least from my observations. Cyans are very resilient as are azures, my allenii I'm having mixed feelings about. I'm leaning towards not so much a cold lover. And pellies for the win concerning cold lovers.
No need to destroy your patch how about watching to see what they do. Or if you really hate nature kill them all. And stop pulling up the Myc people wtf... I only repeat this because I was a noob years ago noticed a post telling people not to rip them out the next post was saying it was pointless even saying. But it's not people need the reminder or at least to be told. Sorry no pics maybe tomorrow.
