Some of us have been spreading azzie spores where you guys are finding cyans, too... favorable environments of course.
Mmm, lookit that myc.
This little one led me to the right place. Just needed to see the little blue wink.
Got me down good and deep into the brush. Hello, gaiz.
They really had to fight their way out. All had the longest azzie stem to cap ratio I've ever seen.
My three favorite of the day.

The stem was equally as long under the bedding. Thought I was pulling up more but was a huge stem. He fought his way out for sure.
This little guy? He smiled at me and made me feel better. My back was killing me and it was so refreshing to see him. Made me smile.

Found a rotten mature. Black. Picked it up and rubbed it up and down my walking stick, getting the spores in there good. I'd reapply every so often. Ideally using it to move grass spread spores around those 6 miles. Had to reapply every big dune or two.
Tomorrow is slurry time. No sense posting pictures of rotten gunk. Going to try and repair some of the damage two people did at a great location. I've never seen anything so ruinous.
One more go at this tomorrow and it'll be my last coastal visit until next year.
Got my stem butt mini project going on now, but those are edibles and I don't like posting those..
Stay warm dry and safe!!

Yes sir. First season. I'm doing okay I imagine. Just wish it wasn't so far. Might start hitting more southern coasts if I get the itch. It's beautiful up where I'm at but between the hotel and gas, travel time etc.. gets excessive. I've seen nearly all the historic things I've wanted to see and eaten at places, sent all the post cards etc.
It's a warm welcome to the PNW. Maybe the southern coasts will hold azzies longer. Sounds like Eugene is just starting cyans. Weird year. Some of my buddies mentioned it being darn near Thanksgiving and they clean up every year. Then saw it mentioned in this thread.
..and I've lost 20 pounds!
It's so beautiful here. Got some REI gear and dude I didn't even need a spare change of clothes on both hunts. Viking rain gear for next year tho. *Might* do one more run up here after the holiday. You know how to reach me

Do you guys ever find patches that just never seem to mature?
I recently found a park in my area that has miles of these narrow bark chip trails. Over the past two weeks I've been doing short hunts there, and have found 4 different patches with ease. But they never seem to grow much larger than pins. One of the patches has probably a hundred pins.
The trails are narrow and this is a popular place to bike/run/walk your dog and the spots seem to be getting disturbed a lot. Every time I check them there are plenty of broken/smashed pins/very immature cyans. Nonetheless, much more pop up than ever get killed off.
I am wondering, are these disturbances just stressing the patch sop much that they just don't grow much at all?
I always hunt there after class and my phone is dead by then so I haven't snapped any photos. Going this weekend earlier to get a few hours of hunting in and will grab some pics.

Public place. College kids. Frequented by many.
Someone's beating you to the punch big guy.
Snag as much myc as you can without doing damage (doesn't take a lot) and transplant it to a bucket for the winter or something.
Edit: By that I mean take some, transfer to a jar of alder cooking chips swollen with water.

See that's the thing, theres really no evidence of larger cyans ever being around, no stubs, just pins. And when I check them I see the same cyans as before, hardly any larger, or just tramped. Not to mention they don't look disturbed from the last time I came through. I've had a lot of patches raped but these don't look like it.
I'm coming through every few days, and it looks exactly as I left it last time. Just clear out the broken/trampled cyans. As I was picking some a biker came up from behind me and went around me, mowing straight over the patch. I feel like it's just gettin beat up.
Either way. I got a ton of myccy chips/leaves/debris/material. Right now it's all just sitting in a bin on my deck. What else should be done?

Check out the cultivation forum and make sure to provide as much detail as possible and also how to winter it over. I had to piece together a half dozen different threads for the best way to go about it. Let them know it's an outdoor Wood lover or something in the title so you don't get inexperienced users giving you the wrong advice.

Actually last year it was beta who referred to a pile of capsules as a half a boat. Boat being a G term for 1000 in quantity. That part was misunderstood by a few users.
We like to measure our hauls in metric fuck tonnes, just makes more sense than us standard fuck tons...
So were you at? I'm about 9 oz. at the moment. Joust. Pictures are the shit as usual. Snowday. Try watering the shit out of those pins and insulate them with pine needle or leaf blanket. Don't start messing with the myc yet. it's not going any were. If you do you will be risking the fruits you just watered and tucked in for the cold next few nights. just my opinion of course. I saw three or four places that had the same situation. I just covered them and forgot about them just checked tonight and the wind blew my covering off at one spot(Allthough it wasn't very good cover job in the first place).not sure about the cross town spots. they finally were doing something but it's really cold tonight i'll have to see what there going to do. Ive seen Cyans with ice melt off the caps and dry rings around them in the snow. Tough fuckers. If people don't just let them do what they do some times, how are you going to further your knowledge? Sceince is the shit. observations go a long way to help all of us. input my freind. Dys.. too early to be instructing chip removal. but then again theres so much out there it really doesnt matter.. Spread the love. Spread the knowledge..tonight Today Habitat Last year ice Not a boat load but it's a truck load

I am soooo angry I haven't gotten a chance to check the massive Stuntzii patch I have and also haven't been able to look for libs. I really am praying they are going to survive this cold snap we have coming. I made 2 new cyan finds today and I only hunted for about an hour so that was cool. Some cyans in the grass with chips about 6 feet away:

And this is one of multiple patches in the mega patch:

There was ice on some of the cyans so I am thinking that they may not grow much bigger than they currently are....would you guys pick those? Wavy margins but not the kind of upturn that I like to see in maturity....

my finds so far Pan. cinctulus a Florida variety, P. allenii, P. azurescen P. baeocystis washington, P. cyanescens actually 2 suspected extreme phenotype or possible other sp. one was tiny very fragile grassland sp. also some possible dune cyan.., and Gymnopilus sp.,
No ovoids this year, no pelly's yet and still never found a lib and I actually attempted this fall. Also tried hunting for cubes and pan cyans...no luck. Oh and my stuntzii patch is dead.
The season is not over no need to destroy a patch. No matter how Much we pick it will never be enough. The sickness is real...
