Life on mars
    #2218840 - 01/04/04 07:04 PM (13 years, 8 months ago)

Well hopefull it wont be long before we will find out if there is life on mars, I was watching the whole mars lander thing live last night and it was pretty cool. Hers the link if your intrested. its a live feed from nasa showing you things as they happen http://video.csupomona.edu/LiveTwo-245.asx

If there is life on mars could it mean that a more complex organism used to live on that planet millions of years ago. Maybe mars could of been like earth, but if so where there humans there or another race of beings that are now hidden on earth.

I smoke to much

I think they lost contact for about 10mins when the probe was bouncing in it ball.
I was watching and listening to stuff that was happening like they where counting down till the probe hit mars atmosphere. I was just hopeing things didnt screw up and it was a bit worring when they lost the signal.

I think now they are showing live pics from mars, i just think this is realy strange.
Anyway the link should now work.

I doubt they will find anything living on Mars, and I don't think that's what they are looking for.

Evidence of past life on Mars is something else, and much more likely

I heard they use a red tint on the mars landers because it's what people expect. That might not be true though.

I have recently stumbled upon some top-secret Russian documents that tell of a cover up a while back. It basically said this-

The Russians sent a manned mission to Venus as a way of competing with
the American mission to the Moon. The astronauts died.

Dunno bout mars.. but...

What about:
unlimited space in the universe = unlimited chance for life to form, as it requires the right matter (C, O, N, H2O etc) and environment, and as they're is unlimited matter they're is unlimited types of environment.

= unlimited chance on unlimited types of lifeforms = they're must be other humans somewhere else

The total mass of all in the "universe", can it be a number? Or cant it?
Mass does not ever change, if you burn a lucifer and weigh the smoke and ashes, the same mass is they're.
Nice question eh :P

Well I think they are looking for micro-organisms of fossils of them, I remember watching a documentory o the building of the rover and they where trying to make sure that no organism from earth would contaminate there experiments.

But that proberly still dosent prove anything because they could have easily come from space.

What's the big deal about finding life on mars tho? The way we're destroying life on earth it seems a little pointless.

Finding evidence of life off of Earth would pretty much flush the concepts of the origins of life of most religions down the proverbial toilet. People have been burned alive for suggesting that the Earth was not the center of the universe... that not everything revolves around humans and our existance...

Finding evidence of biological organisms which come from space itself would be an even BIGGER find than organisms on Mars! Then not only would life not necessarily have started on Earth alone...but it may not have started on Earth at all.

The British probe, "Beagle2", is still unreachable since it landed the 25th last month but they are still trying to make contact.
American probe "Spirit" landed the 4th this month and it's twin brother "Opportunity" will land 2 weeks from now.
There might be life on Mars, not as we know it here on earth but it's a possibility.
Happy new year ....
