Mac, you might need steroids for your pain. It sounds like a torn muscle or connective tissue. That can be a bitch to heal up. The right exercise will help, try various stretching and movement and see what seems to trigger the pain. If you can't pin it down general stretching and light exercise might fix it without steroids. They have hgh stimulating peptides, they are not steroids but stimulate your body to produce its own. Might help, it helped fix tendonitis in my arm.
I've been an insomniac for a long time. I finally found a system that works for me, might not work for everyone. First, what I tried that did not work. Benzos, stay away from them they are hard drugs and more addictive than heroin. I tried antidepressants because they make you sleepy, I tried loads of things including etiz, melatonin, etc etc etc.
What does work is getting off those nasty drugs, vaping some pot late in the evening seems to put me to sleep. I though aha, I found it. Then after a couple months I got a tolerance to the sleepy effect. So now I use low dose of a few things that always work to give me a break from the pot.
day 1 - pot day 2 - pot day 3 - about 3mg Seroquel day 4 and 5, pot day 6 about 0.8mg mirtazapine day 7,8 pot day 9 - about .25mg etiz
Then repeat.
The doses of ser, mirt and etiz will sound like way too little. If you use them frequently you get a tolerance quickly but if you've been off them a while they work great. I was taking 15mg of mirt to get to sleep but now less than a mg does it. Same with Seroquel, was taking 50mg, using it once every 9 days means a tiny dose will work.
If I'm really wound up I may need something more. I do have loads of the bad stuff in reserve, I just try not to use it.
Shroomslip, have you tried exercise? I hear it works.

So you start bitching about the person supporting your sorry ass Nice!
Get a job with flexible hours, work nightshifts, work from home. Insomnia is quite common, you think all those people depend on family to support them?

Thats hardcore bitter cactus. A meth binge will do that. My girlfriend told me a meth story where she stayed up all night and had a "bad trip" where she wandered into a park at night and saw a hige group of alien-like native people trying to "sacrafice" her. She ran and ran around the park, tripping on meth delusions. Scary stuff. She said she got sleep the previous night, but i bet she was on a meth binge.
Ive read a similar story of sleep depravation from meth use on Erowid. It was insane, and the crazy shit started happening from day 7 as well.
i imagine a high dose datura trip is similar

None of what happened to your girlfriend even moderately surprises me.
My worst psychosis was basically I was doing shots all day, hadn't even been up for that long maybe two days. I was out and about with my dealer hitting the pipe and doing lots of good shots in back alleys and in 711 washrooms and shit.
I got so paranoid and eventually said peace to her. I thought I was being chased by the cops. That day I had bought a hundred dollar bag of meth and did some before with my buddy and I ended up thinking I was about to get arrested so I ate the entire bag of meth. I had easily close to a gram of meth in my system that I had eaten and I went into hyper psychosis mode within minutes.
I was sprinting up and down streets, running from choppers, doing flips over fences and running across busy roads with cars honking at me. I hid in people's shed's, back yards trying to be stealth and not moving. I ended up in some dude's garage and was freaking out begging him not to call the cops and I layed in the garage there geeked out freaking out. The garage opened and some man grabbed my arm and said "gotcha", grabbed my arm then I knocked his arm away then sprinted at full speed. If there were to be a camera of this it would be out of a movie cause I was sprinting so fast for so long and it was so fucked.
I was literally running around doing this shit for a good twelve hours and was so dehydrated and the bones were sticking out of my body I must have burnt so many calories. I am surprised I never had a heart attack or stroke because I easily should have died from that dose it was completely fucked up and thinking about it scares me to this day.
But ya, usually I could handle myself well even days into these binges but if the days go too far or the dose is way way too high you can snap into psychosis easily. That was easily the most messed up day of my life and it is embarassing. I am just glad I never did get arrested but it really did look like there was a mob of cop cars and choppers coming after me and to this day I am not sure if it was real.

I won't begin to try and advise you people. The only time I've suffered from insomnia has been when quiting the drink and sometimes when I wake needing a piss at 2 in the morning I can't get back to sleep, that sucks enough.
I came across this > NoiseGenerator that you can Calibrate to your own hearing. and download onto a memory stick or some such that you can plug into a dab radio and all that jazz. Interesting site to pass a few on anyway.
I always loved the sound off wind/rain outside while snuggled up all warm and dry. I reckon having that sound on tap while lying in bed could be helpful. Just listen and drift off on the sound.
But then if I were in bed now I could have listened to this, on as I type.

People with insomnia have nobody to blame but themselves. There is such a thing as sleep hygiene and doing things that make getting to sleep easier at night.
A hundred years ago I guarantee there were way less people with insomnia. That is because they were doing more physical exertion all day and not on the computer chugging cokes and drinking coffee and popping pills all day.
There is no solution to insomnia. Drugs are a shitty solution and they make it worse in the long run. It is on you to make lifestyle changes to make falling asleep easier.

The only things that ever kept me up were a wandering g mind, for which I try to stop thinking, or the light of the day or street lights. Get a sleeping mask and may there relaxing, unless you want to go a chemical rout

Meth is one hell of a drug!
Its weird how even without sleep deprivation, u can "snap" into psychosis from a little too much meth. Maybe thats what happened to my GF back in the day. Just a little too much smoked meth, then BOOM. Psychosis trip.
Thats one reason why i never wanted to touchh meth, ive heard too many stories like that.

Valerian root
Medical grade sativa (amazing sleep) and highly recommended.
Exercise hard throughout the day
Remove stimulants such as coffee and anything containing caffeine
force yourself to sleep before 10pm
Eat a balanced plant based diet high in carbohydrates and greens, and low in fat.

Good tips. I would choose an indica rather than sativa but both will work. Pot is the best sleep aid I found. I would use it every night but I need a day off every so often so that it still has the magic.

There's a lot here and I didn't read, so I'll be brief in case it was covered:
You need sleep 8 hours a day until you're about 50-60, then it's 6. It's all about replicable habits, because that's all life is. If every day is a new experience, it's exciting and interesting, but it disrupts habits, like sleep.
Look into "sleep hygiene," because you are probably missing out on a LOT. Treat your sleep as Holy and do what you can to keep it protected from day to day life.
Furthermore, get it when you fucking can! Don't be afraid to become unreliable on things unrelated to survival if you are suffering a medical condition

This may seem counter-intuitive, but Im certain it will work. Get up super early one day, smoke some meth, just a little. Now repeat this every day for a week or two. Now keep getting up early, but dont do any more meth. When the meth withdrawel kicks in, youll be sleeping 8 solid hours, no problem.
