I am growing BHT shrooms and they tend to cluster together in large amounts. I have noticed that the larger the cluster the smaller the shrooms. I also have noticed that as the cake dries out it starts to turn blue and this seems to happen with the larger clusters faster. I have already gotten a successful flush...or at least my best one yet. I am only guessing...but it seems to me that the reason the shrooms are smaller and aborts more frequent in cluster is because they are using all the water and nutrients from the same spot. so my question is this:
Will removing aborts early on prevent the cake from drying out as fast and allow the healthy shrooms in the clusters grow bigger and faster and help prevent them from drying out before maturity?
Also, does anyone do anything with the aborts? I had a friend tell me that they can be dried and ground up into capsules to some effect.
If the cakes are getting dehydrated in the middle of a flush you can inject water from a syringe into various points in the cake to rehydrate it better than simply misting.

Do Not overestimate aborts!
They are more potent than u think they are!
Just dry them like normal shrooms. They take less time to dry cause the shrooms are so small.

For you to see what I meant, you should weigh em out becuz gram per gram, regular shrooms don't have shit against aborts, ime...
I know you meant & I agree with you.

I don't know you know this already but a lot of the pins are dormant and don't grow until future flushes and that can include pins that are part of a cluster. In which case removing them won't affect the size of the others growing. However, removing non-aborted actively growing pins does tend to increase the size of the other growing on that substrate (not necessarily just the others in the cluster)
