Re: Vermiculite coir bucket tek [Re: cronicr]

Water boils at 212, i put it in a bucket and wrapped it in like a 200 dollar sleeping bag. When i opened it after an hour and a half yesterday, it was still hot, and steamy. the top was a little softer than it was before, meaning it hadn't cooled too much

I can assume it stayed over 150*F, but i will take a proper internal temp when i get the chance.

although, i did boil 3 gallons of water, on 1 brick of coco coir, and 2 quarts of verm, it wasnt enough to cover all of the coir. Is this an issue, or can i just remove the coir that is dry? The instructions on the coir say to use 1-1/2gal, and i used three because of the verm as i planned to drain it..... Suggestions?
