I think so also. I have used both glad mini rounds and 1/4 pint glass jars and the glass jars had very little condensation which cleared up very quickly. I use my glass jars for LI now. I couldn't imagine having 100's of glass jars just for agar.

I have 72 1/2 pints from back when I did cakes so I figured I'd just use them for plates instead of just packing them away

If you have them, might as well reuse them. Good job.

Mike,
What kind of lids do you use for your 1/2 pints for agar? All mine have the 4 holes drilled into them. I guess I could just cover those with micropore tape, but it's probably safer to use SFD lids on them.

I use mainstay white plastic lids from walmart. If I use the lids for LI, I use the plastic whatman filters. If I use the lids for agar or pf cakes, I use a piece of tyvek suit for the filter.

I have a big Tyvek suit I only wear a few times. I'll just cut some squares off and drop them over the lids with 4 holes in them. That should do the trick. Thanks.

If using metal lids, I would drape the tyvek over the lid but under the ring. It makes it easier to take the lid off. I used to do it thay way with grain jars but wasn't very convenient for g2g's. It was however, excellent when using silicone on top for a SHIP.

Yep, that's what I do. I've done that for Muda bottles before I had SFDs and they worked fine.

I've used several different containers for agar and the 1/4 pint jars with the plastic lids have the least condensation. All my pour plates have lots. 100's of jars. Oy!

I saw somebody claim that letting your plates cool before PC will get rid of condensation after the PC.
I did a bunch of plates and let them cool, but they still got condensation. So I think there are still some factors to be worked into this equation.
yeah cooling doesn't get rid of condensation.

Sure you can. Just stuff it as tight as you can in the hole.

If wrapping the edges with glad is meant to stop vacuum from sucking in contaminated air (or just to block air particles) then when should you apply it? After Pcing? After inoculating?
