I just birthed the cakes and put them in the fc. I took it and placed it in front of the window. It starts getting light here around seven in the morning and dark around the same of the evening. Would this be enough and if not I have a 5000k fluro to use if I need it how far away should it be? Should I use both im not sure what to do. Some help would be appreciated. Oh and the temp is a constant 80 f back there it's the same temp they were colonized in. Is this goin to be a problem?

Thats fine, just make sure its indirect lighting..
You dont want the sun to actually "beat" on your FC.

U can use ambient light just fine, but I've noticed they do benefit from "very" bright lights directly above them, they seem to go towards the brightest light. I've always just used a little energy saver bulb hung over my tubs.
should be fine at 80f Quote:

I would consider the sun a pretty decent heat lamp.
