A note to tequila drinkers....
    #2218284 - 01/04/04 01:35 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

American tequila drinkers have long been fed the line that Jose Cuervo is the "best" tequila out there, as it is usually the best that liquor stores carry and it's the "top shelf" at most bars. This is most definatly NOT the best tequila out there. I recommend anyone who has a palate for liquor to pick up a bottle of Petron Silver and enjoy fine Mexican tequila that has the smooth flavor of agave cactus, and not the nasty fusel taste of Cuervo in it. Enjoy!

man i met jose cuervo. he was cool it stuck its head out of teh cage and let u pet its head.
jose cuervo makes very fien tequila. but i cant fidn any here in canada. its called centenario. aged in oak barrels. very smooth almost wiskey like. they also have another anejo tequila but it is aged in red wood i belive.

silver tequila is crap no matter what kind, in my opinion.

I don't know where you get your information that cuervo is considered the best. First off it's PATRON, and second -- cuervo is the smirnoff of tequila, and anything bottled in those big handled bottles is NOT considered the finest.

Patron is also like 50$ a bottle.

I went to a sammy hagar concert put on by Jim Ladd, if you dont know who Jim Ladd is, well I hate you, but anyways sammy hagar supplied everyone there with ample amounts of free tequila. There was only about 200 people there total. He makes a DAMN fine tequila. Best I have ever had. P.S the dead were there also, such a good night. I got to talk to the members of the dead while they were blazed.

Point remains, I doubt there are many who think Cuervo is top shelf.
