This guy just plucks them off the cake, aren't you suppose to cut at the base of the stipe the with scissors as close to the substrate as possible?
Someone tell me how to harvest cultivated Psilocybin mushrooms, I know for wild Psilocybin mushrooms that you cut at the base of the stipe the with scissors as close to the substrate as possible so not disturb the mycelium, is the same true with indoor cultivated mushrooms?

Yank them off the cake. Don't cut them

what's wrong with that? we don't always have to agree on shit if they come off easy enough twist and pull, if there taring shit up cut them, if there are still mushrooms growing off the base..cut them

Because I'm back to square one, and have gotten no where, hence, why I asked the question in the first place...
To pluck, or to cut at the base of the stipe with scissors.

I usually twist them. I don't mind damaging the casing layer. I also notice some species really like to hold onto the casing and pull up as big chunk, whereas others just let go. I don't like growing ones that hold on. To much cleaning before drying. I also do not like a bunch of stumps left to rot. Sometimes they go back to a ball of fuzz, sometimes they just get nasty. As for cakes and none cased substrates, I say twist and pull.

Do some of each until you figure out which is less destructive for you and your particular mushrooms. That's the only real answer.
Twist and pull doesn't always work and cutting isn't always necessary. There are different answers for different occasions and you have to feel that out for yourself.

I twist and pull because the stump sometimes causes other problems or gets in the way of real estate. I only cut if it's attached to other lovelies still growing. Then once they're done, I twist the whole bunch off.

When I did PF Tek, they came off ultra easy with a slight pull. With bulk subs, you'll rip up the substrate and have to either change your technique or cut off at the base (I prefer the latter).
Also the guy in that video is a tool. I could see him picking cyans while tipping his fedora like, "M'lignin."

Psilocybe cyanescens or Panaeolus cyanescens?
And what's "M'lignin" short for?
I want to get the same mental image that you have hahahahahahahaha

I usually press away from the direction they are growing and they come off without damaging the bulk sub much. But's it's really what works best for you.

Psilocybe. They grow in wood chips because they have symbiotic relationship with lignin-rich substrates.

I do a little of both, you kinda get a feel for which ones will yank up the substrate or not.
Big clusters, I always cut with a knife .
Both are acceptable methods to harvest, I think the point to take away is however you do it try to not damage the substrate too mu

Now I get it.
I would have understood your humor straight off the bat if I knew what lignin was, I had to google it just now. Something to do with the cell walls of wood or someshit, quick wikipedia summary skim-read.
I know that Psilocybe cyanescens is a woodlover (no homo) I pick Psilocybe subaeruginosa and subs are woodlovers (no homo)
Both species are also very closely related.

You can use either method. Twisting and pulling really starts to get old though when you're harvesting a lot of mushrooms. If you're just doing a few cakes it's probably not even worth the time it takes to find something to cut them with.

See, I thinking cutting gets old when there are a lot of mushrooms. I didn't know that the video showed cyans. Those are a different story. Cyans are sensitive to multiple flushes. They also grab onto the wood chips with dear life. People also flick the caps to let spores loose. There is no need to do that with cubes
