Some questions

So I've done a fair amount of research and even inoculated 4 jars but it seems they may have cobweb mold I'm not for sure. Anyways I'm about to toss them and make some new jars and I've had these questions for awhile and all the teks never specified these...
1. After inoculation would it be okay to leave the holes uncovered? Or do I need to cover them with tape or tin foil?
2. When flame sterilizing the needle how long do I need to wait for it to cool down before using? If I wipe the needle with alcohol wont the alcohol kill the spores?
3. Can I leave my jars sitting on a shelf in my closet so I can look at them without touching? My closet is fairly small and is an average 70-75 degrees.

Make sure you have a good verm barrier in place if you leave the holes uncovered. You can inject right after flame sterilizing( squirt a drop or two out before injecting like cronicr suggested). Make sure to do this in a SAB.
And that's a perfect temp range to leave your jars

Last question... If I pressure cook the jars at 12 in the afternoon how long should I leave them? I know its suppose to be overnight but wouldn't leaving them sit that long increase contam risk?

Newbie, don't trash those jars. Let them grow and learn from them. You should be good If you followed directions. Unless you picked your favorite parts of each tech and did it your way
-------------------- Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.

Hey newbie. That is exactly why I said to save them. Odds are, if everything was done correctly, you will succeed.

UPDATE: 5 more jars have been properly pressure cooked and came out looking great I have just inoculated them and left them on my closet shelf where they can easily be looked at without being touched. My other 4 are sitting right next to me at my computer so I can watch them closely. heh sounds like watching grass grow but they're mushrooms

It's not that, you shouldn't be moving your jars at all in the first place. Once you knock them up, just leave them on a shelf to colonize.

Yeah Ik Ik These wouldn't have been touched so much if I didn't think it was cobweb. It freaked me out and I wanted it away from my grow area immediately to not contaminate future grows. But it turns out im just that.. a newbie

Wow one of my jars is just growing phenomenally fast very surprising. I also just made my first LC and am currently in the process of making another liquid culture in case this one fails
