agar question

I have just come across a tek: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/17608972#17608972
It describes a way to prepare "antibiotic agar". It looks interesting. I find it hard to believe, however, that it is as good as the tek author would have us believe. Has anyone tried this or something like it?
In theory, it has its beauties.
PS: I have searched.

The store i usually buy from for mush stuff use something called Aminoglycoside antibiotics to make theirs. No idea what it is though
