with grey areas its probably cobweb mold if it is to cure it spay some water with 10% h2o2 and it should go away. and cobweb mold is only a surface contam so you dont have to worrie about it being on the inside of your cake/casing or whatever it may be.

cobweb is not just a surface contam,i lost a third of a casing to cobweb that started in the bottom casing layer,a third of the casing was overrun by the time it became visible on the surface.
here's a picture of that casing after surgery.

the last area of contam that can be seen in this pic was killed by painting it with straight peroxide, using a small paint brush.

here's the end result.

alright this is the funny part, so my friend took the chamber out and misted the cakes with 10% peroxide/water and the grey areas went away. But the weird part is while the grey areas were there before there were small green areas which he knew was contams. After the misting and a day later the white myc. is taking over the green areas. This is ofcourse a good sign right? Would this mean the myc growing on the contam area is strong as hell?
