Blue Oysters Hijacked My Maz Casing

I woke up this morning to find that my suspicious looking hyphal knot patches on my casing had turned into blue oysters. This would be fine if I had intended to grow blue oysters, but I used three quarts of Mazatapec. The only reason I think this may have happened is due to blue oyster mycelium residue left in the quart jars prior to my G2G transfer. My jars are typically thrown into the dishwasher after use, but after this, I may handwash for now on. My first cycle of Maz's were cultivated using rye grain with a MS inoculation, which was a decent success. This cycle was cased using jars of rye that were inoculated using a G2G transfer from one grain master of the first cycle. I plan on going with the flow of things for now. There is not much else to do but wait it out and see if the those Maz's can grow with the oysters.
Has anyone else experienced this situation before? What actions would you take it if you ran into this?

I've grown yellow oysters in the same greenhouse as my cubes.. Thats a bad idea
It wont be from your jars, i assume they went through a pc cycle after you used them for oysters, so more likely spores in your FC!
My trays with ''oyster cubes'' contaminated pretty quickly after the yellow oysters took over it, didnt reach a first flush. Might not be the case with yours, keep it going and keep eyes on it!

Thanks for sharing your experiences with this Yerow. I ended up picking out as much of the oysters I could find and tossed my trays back into incubation mode in hopes that the right myc takes hold. I set these guys into fruiting conditions prematurely in the first place and that may have influenced the hostile takeover by the oysters. Easy come easy go.

Sounds good! In nature it's very possible for different fungi species to grow in harmony, so it could very well happen for you too

Where did you get your spores? Are you sure that you didn't get screwed by a vendor? There are shady vendors that send out syringes full of oyster spores rather than what you ordered. You may not have any Mazatapec in there at all.

Hi Juice,
The spores I originally purchased were legit. I had a successful experience on the first run and previous grow projects using spore syringes purchased from various vendors. It was my second cycle, the one after my blue oyster grow, that has produced these results, using a G2G transfer. I think that Yerow may be on the right track in terms of the blue oyster spores left over in my fruiting chamber, which is a three tier indoor greenhouse, which I failed to clean out properly prior to setting the new trays in. Thanks for the input Juice.
