My first sensory deprivation float.

I went on a 90 minute float yesterday and I was kind of underwhelmed. I started to get into it towards the end but it was really uncomfortable at first. Your chest floats much higher than the rest of your body, especially your head and it made my head lean back really far. Imagine standing straight up and looking straight at the ceiling. That's what position my head was in. The instructor guy warned us of neck cramps until we got used to it and he was right.
After about 30 minutes of trying different positions and being uncomfortable my mind wouldn't shut off and kept thinking of work and things that I don't want to think about. Between the two I had sit up and turn the lights on for a couple minutes to collect myself and rest my neck. I took it as a sign that I was stressed out too much, but it could also be from the weed because I did get really high beforehand which can make my thoughts go a little crazy.
Then I got back in and discovered this floatie thing that I could use to rest my head on and it helped keep my head afloat which helped a lot. I ended up crossing my hands behind my head also to raise my head up higher. All of this just made me miss laying in a bed with pillows and blankets, which is seriously MUCH more comfortable than this. The water and air was kind of cold to me and gave me the chills. My earplugs kept falling out. Without earplugs the room was far from soundproof. The water pump was humming and I could hear the shower in the room next to me turning on and off. In the last 30 minutes I was able to be comfortable and experienced the sensory deprivation in stillness like you're supposed to.
Overall it probably sounds like I'm complaining, but I'm not. It's a combination of me being inexperienced with it and too restless to stay still for long and I think it was kind of a shitty place for it due to the sound and temperature. I would do it again at a better place but I don't know if I'd spend 60 bucks to do it again.
