Anyone else enjoy tripping in intense storms?
Feels so magical and mind blowing!

wish my lsd wasn't a far drive away from where i'm at .. It's storming bad right now, dosing would be fun and I haven't in a while so my tolerance is completely down !

I have only tripped in a T-storm once, on mescaline and it was awesome. I loved watching the lighting, but ironically it would be on a different trip with nice whether when I would realize the spiritual significance of thunder and lightning.

I like it until I get afraid a tornado is going to happen or some shit if it gets too severe, which it has before while I was REALLY tripping, worst fucking feeling ever.

I can see where that could go bad if your trip is already headed in a negative direction but it can be so much fun if you stay positive and go into the trip with a good attitude !

I don't think I've ever tripped in a lightening storm, but I've shroomed in some major coastal storms in Washington where it was blowing over 90 mph. Staying in a yurt. It was pretty crazy. I'd love to trip during an electric storm though. We just don't get them much here.

Your tripping experiences still seem like a blast! Being balls deep in 90mph winds must have felt nuts!

I had a very intense trip on 25i back when I was into research chemicals two years ago, it was my first trip in years and a huge storm had rolled in... To call it merely epic would be denying its true power and the synchronicity of drug intensity and the intensity of nature. The intensity of just being alive that day was too much to handle, let alone the storm which appeared to be flooding the world in rivers flowing upwards and downwards at impossible angles while the house across the street broke apart into a million cubes repeatedly, irrepressibly. It was fucking intense. I am waiting to this day for a storm that intense, I wish to ride the lighting with some lsd this time around.

Last sat night actually. Some friends and I had made golden teacher tea and planned on watching the clouds and enjoying a nice sunset. But, an hour in these huge clouds rolled in w lots of thunder and lightening. Def beautiful to watch and would def recommend it.

My craziest trip was during a tropical storm with tons of thunder and lightning. Was on 3 hits of very potent LSD and we were sitting on my friends second story balcony just taking bong rips of DMT every thirty minutes or so..
Was fucking INTENSE !

I had a thread about tripping in gnarly weather a while back, I'll just paste my post from there....
I was on some good lsd and camping along the crest of the sierras last summer, and a storm rolled through.
Quote:
openmind said: This past summer I went camping way up in the sierras, in this little high alpine valley/meadow that lays around 9k to 10k feet or so.

(Looking down at the lake & meadow from the peak in the previous pics, to give a bit of reference)

I went up there with my sisters and their boyfriends, a couple of their friends, and one friend of mine. One of the days we all dosed some quality LSD shortly after waking up, except my sisters and one of their friends. This would be a first psychedelic experience for my sister's boyfriend and one of their friends (I don't know of a better place to have such an experience, we usually have the entire area to ourselves as very few people know about or go camping up at this spot.).
The day got off to an absolutely gorgeous start, cool crispy mountain air with the lush enveloping warmth of the sun....But!....The weather geek in me knew where I was and the time of year it was, and I knew damn well that afternoon thunderstorms are quite the norm for such a place & time . I actually let this be known to everyone that it was likely there would be a storm cell rolling over the area in the afternoons....
....Spent the first few hours of the day/trip walking around and more or less blissing out, laying in the meadows inhaling nitrous. As the day went on I could see the clouds building up around the general vicinity, eventually thunder could be heard in the distance every few minutes. Like mentioned, I am a weather-geek and always aware & observant of what's going on in the atmosphere around me. After an hour or so of hearing thunder in the distance I started to notice a lot of turbulence & updrafts & clouds forming right above the little valley we were in.
I knew what was about to go down....Shortly after telling everyone to kinda tidy up the camp and get ready for a potential down pour, in a cliche fashion, there was an immense clap of thunder and huge rain drops started to drop down. It wasn't coming down heavy but these were those big ol' heifer rain drops. Then pea sized hail become mixed in with the rain drops, then bigger hail...within 30 seconds or so it went from being somewhat cloudy, to a full on downpour of mostly hail.
Everyone scattered to their tents...The hail & rain was coming down so heavy that I couldn't hear a damn thing. I knew the storm was obviously building up right above us and was likely going to build in intensity before fizzling out or drifting north-eastward. The flashes of lightening & claps of thunder were not only become more frequent, but the time between the flashes and thunder was growing shorter. I knew we were in the best spot in the valley, not out in the open meadow and not up towards the mountain peak, but rather within a stand of trees somewhat higher the the meadow...still a shitty place to be, but it's as good as it gets considering the location/situation. We should have all got into the cars, and I almost did, but I didn't .
After a few minutes everything was covered in several inches of hail, mounds of hail were piled up around the sides of the tents, big streams of water started to pour down through our camp from the mountain peaks right above us...Fortunately none of the tents were in the direct path of the streams of water as they would have surely swept them farther down into the valley.
The sound of the thunder though!...My god that sound was unlike anything I've ever felt/heard or experienced before...The lightening was obviously striking within the valley we were in and up along the peaks above us, all within 1/2 mile or so, the delay between the flash & thunder with a few of those strikes was a mere blink of an eye. Since we were in a small valley the thunder was echoing, reverberating, rolling all around us, hitting a certain resonance where I could feel it coming up through the earth beneath me...those infra-sound frequencies, frequencies so low that they can only be felt .
I took advantage of the situation and got down on a bunch of nitrous while this was all happening.... ....Between being completely awash and enveloped in the white-sound of the rain/hail coming down, and the immense sound of thunder penetrating every fiber of my being and the earth beneath me, that alone was quite something but having a head full of acid on top of it all was ineffable...I'm not even going to try to elaborate, because words fail.....Hands down one of the coolest things I've experiences though. I was so fucking stoked on what was going down, albeit a bit concerned I was going to die from a lightening strike . (Somehow my friend fell asleep through this whole ordeal, not only on acid but also through a loud intense storm, who does such a thing?) .
The storm eventually plateaued out in intensity, would simmer down for a few brief moment then pick back up again, but it lingered for at least two hours....way longer than I thought it would. I was still tripping on the L pretty good and started to feel a bit cooped up in my tent, fortunately it didn't go on for much longer.
Once the storm let up enough I was on the hunt for dry wood...the sun was going to be going down in a few hours and I knew if I didn't get a fire going ASAP it was going to be a long cold, dark, and wet night. And guess what, I did indeed find some dry wood after a 2 hour down pour. I found an old tree that was rotting out and had just enough cover around it to keep it dry on the inside...I took me hatchet and started hacking away.
Definitely an experience I'll never forget, and one I very well may have again when I return next summer

I took a couple hits of decent acid and a gram or two of mushrooms during a lightning storm once. I was sitting with my friend on top of a mountain on the covered porch of a house.
The house felt really exposed, so that made me a little nervous, but I figured if lightning struck nearby it would hit the roof of the house, not me.
It was definitely an awesome trip. After the lightning passed over us, we could see the storm in the distance and continue watching the lighting for about two hours because we had such a great view over the mountains.
I think that is my only experience tripping during a lightning storm that I can remember. I think there has been other occasions, probably at festivals, but I don't really remember them as well as that experience.
Good times

First time tripping and on lsd I was a few blocks off the pacific ocean in the Pacific Northwest with a wind/lightening storm in full swing. No rain, just very moist pnw ocean air & lightening. The air currents all seemed to be able to be differentiated by different textures or colors. Air whisps dancing and weaving up there in the sky with the trees rocking.
Will not be forgotten.

I just remember one of the best mushroom trips I've ever had just happen to be in the middle of an epic storm. It was a few years ago and my friend had just got some fresh mushies to take to a music festival. Between me and my friend about 5.5 mostly dried each.
The venue is in the Ozark mountains. Many of the festival-campgrounds somewhere aside this giant hill they have built their festival grounds around. Before the event even started it had stormed resulting in a torrential downpour the night before. Several of the campgrounds got flooded and became to wet and muddy to actually camp there. Around that area there are many year-round recreational campgrounds, a few being five or ten miles up the road from the festival.
Needless to say we had to migrate to one of those campgrounds because of the weather. Not that it was that bad, they provided shuttles but it was a 20 minute drive riding in a school bus up a narrow windy incline on the side of a mountain.
Well we had waited until the second day to eat the mushrooms. The second day ending early due to severe thunderstorms again. The entire weekend the main part of the grounds, where the stages were, had mud up and past your ankles. People were literally walking through a swamp. Not soon after we had eaten the mushrooms were bands being canceled due to weather. So we decided to head back to the campsite. By the time we had gotten to the shuttle location I was coming up so hard I could barley see. At one point I even lost my vision due to a burst visuals that left me more or less blind to the outside world for ten to fifteen minutes. Riding down that long narrow-winding road in a full-length school-bus (no seat belts) on a brain full of fungus is frightening to say the least. Finally arriving back to where we pitched our tent the storm was gearing into full swing and so where the mushrooms.
Our shitty tent skills led to our tent wailing in the gusts of wind. We had managed to grab it and all the steaks but were to lost to attempt try to put it back up under those conditions. We just threw it in the car and jumped in to wait out the storm. We had a wonderful view of the mountainscape with an elegant lighting storm that danced off in the distant night-sky. The rain streaming down the windshield had suddenly come to life with intricate mushroom designs twirling across the colliding water drops in blue and purple hues. Glowing and filled with even further design that intertwined, grew, and changed. The trees were radiating different colors and changing shapes, every tree even the ones miles off in the distance. All with random bolts of lightning lighting everything up every few seconds.
Best mushroom trip for sure. You can just feel the intense presence of nature during a storm. I defiantly suggest it if you happen to get the chance to do so, just make sure you're safe.
