    #22169076 - 08/31/15 01:06 PM (8 years, 4 months ago)

Hey everyone! I would like some help IDing these boletus species. I'm a newbie shroomer and would really appreciate the help.

Species #1

Habitat:
Where does it grow? Woods of central Georgia, US. Growing from the ground in a mixed forest.

Gills:
White to beige pores.

Stem:
~4 inches long, brown to brown-white in color. About 1 inch in diameter.

Cap:
About 5 inches in diameter. Brownish in color.

Bruising:
The pores maybe turned slightly browner after handling. It may have been dirt from my hands though.

Other information:
Boletus edulis maybe? I'm hoping =).

#2

Habitat:
Where does it grow? Woods of central Georgia, US. Growing from the ground in a mixed forest. Several were growing in the same ~3 sq ft area.

Gills:
White to beige pores.

Stem:
Stems of the mature specimen were 2 or 3 inches in diameter and about 4 to 7 inches long.

Cap:
About 8 inches in diameter for the largest specimen. The top of each was somewhat speckled with dark brownish greys.

Bruising:
None

Other information:
Very curious about these. Haven't seen any with this strange cap pattern before.
