Getting a second and third flush 1

I know there are forums and articles I can read on The subject but so far my best advice has come from posting my own questions. My previous attempt didn't make it past the first flush and molded. I have read that it is good to dry them out 2-3 days..dunk and repeat the method for the first flush. My questions are:
1.How do you know when the first flush is finished. 2. What is the best way to dry them out and prevent Contams on the second flush. 3.Is it normal for white hairs to be near the base of mature shrooms? (a friend said it was but I want confirmation) 4. On some of the cakes there is blue bruising...is it safe/reccommended to use a sterile knife to cut a thin layer of mycelium off before the second flush? I read somewhere that it helps regardless.
Thank you I'm advance for your help. Wouldnt have gotten this far without these forums. Definitely a learning process.

For 1. When no more shrooms are popping up 3. The fuzzy feet is a sign that they need more FAE 4. I wouldn't cut away bruising

2. dehydrator, there is no specific way to prevent contams during fruiting other than not being nasty around the tub. 4.

Use a dehydrator to dry out the cakes?? O.o. really? And I don't know how FAE could be an issue one of the cakes is in completely open air getting listed regularly. I had originally separated it Because I thought it had contams but it's doing great

You shouldn't be drying anything out that's not mushrooms so you'll have to forgive me for using context clues.
Fuzzy feet can also be attributed to genetics.

Well I have been told and read on here that you are supposed to let the cakes dry before dunking again. How do I do this?

You dunk when the cakes are dry, you don't force the cakes to dry so that you can dunk them.
You can tell if the cake is dry because it will weigh less than it used to. Usually people just dunk between flushes because the cakes lose water to the first flush, and you can be sure that it could use some water since it just lost plenty.

Well I want to prevent mold from them sitting out. So I would assume I take them out of the terrarium and put them somewhere else... But where and for how long?

I... really don't know what you're talking about anymore, sorry. If anything I said sounds overly simplistic it's because you've got it overcomplicated somehow.
Dunk between flushes for about 12 hours, and then put back in fruiting. There is no.... other place to put them.
There will only be mold if there's already mold.

Put them on a counter...they have already been exposed to the open air and millions of mold spores.....fruiting is not a sterile process, it is done in open air....

I think some of these guys like to give out strange answers
1, no more mushrooms? Flush is done. 2, let them sit in your FC for a day or 2 after flush without misting or anything, then throw them in a pot of water for 12-24 hours. Your cakes are already riddled with contams, but it will fight most off, until it wont. 3, Spiky mycelium reaching out in the air from the base of mushrooms or your substrate means your mushrooms want more air. FC is not made right, or you should fan some more. 4, blue bruising happens when your cakes are TOO dry, wont help to cut anything off
