a month and 5 days and now a stall
    #2216573 - 01/03/04 01:28 PM (13 years, 4 months ago)

its been a month and 5 days since my friend shot up his jars... b+ on popcorn and everything seems to have myc but its very light and it doesnt seem to be growing... what should he do? case them and hope the myc starts to colonize thoroughly through the verm? hes starting to guess that after a while the myc starts to slack off. at first he seen pretty decent growth but the temps were cold like 70 and then after a while the temps got better but the myc got slower...hes guessing maybe because the myc got older? :shake: :shake: :nonono: :nonono: help........

Temps should be at the 80-85?F if you want to see mycellium grow fast in your jars.

Hey man, A month + seems a bit long for grain colonization! Temps would be my guess for your 'stall'. Does the corn look greasy at all?

FWIW, I know of a guy that just inoculated some popcorn on 12/24 and thay are all haulin' ass. He shook 'em yesterday until there was little visible growth and today they are as if he never shook. Temps are kept between 84-88.

Something is definitely not right.

Are you using Tyvek or Polyfill or similar for air exchange?

Is it possible that your popcorn is overly wet? Overly dry?

if you decide to birth em,cut out the uncolonized bits with a sterile knife and then singe the spots with a red hot blade.then you can case/spawn.

ps:b+ is notoriously slow
