Using Faeces Instead Of Vermiculite
    #22164496 - 08/30/15 11:59 AM (8 years, 4 months ago)

Greetings, psychonauts, microbiologists and others.

I was just wondering if you would be successful in using cow faeces instead of vermiculite and brown rice flour to cultivate psilocybin mushrooms? If yes, which would be easier to use?

Yes, it is called a bulk substrate.....coir, horse manure, cow manure, straw, etc. are all considered bulk substrates.

Manure requires proper pasteurization, not just boiling water in a bucket.

Horse manure is better than cow manure.

Any method is easy...

Use rye grain, coco coir and vermiculite.

mushroomvideos.com has a tutorial on how to prep the rye.

Search for ''my elementary coir tek" for how to prep the substrate.

This method is easy and will yield 4-8 oz of mushrooms.
