Digital rh reader water locked

I'm trying to find a digital rh and temp reader that won't get water locked so easily. The one I got from Wal-Mart is getting water locked where the 2 dollar thermometer / rh reader shows rh 20% lower than the digital.
I would like it to store the high and low temp and rh.

If you want a logger look up Lascar [edit here you go http://www.lascarelectronics.com/temperaturedatalogger.php?datalogger=480 ]
If you want a controller then the DHC-100+ (ebay) will do the job, just wrap the sensor in something to let air in but keep water droplets out.

Bought a WH8040 off Amazon on Friday should be here Tuesday. I assume it's practically the same thing. All i could thing of from preventing yhat from getting water locked is wiping it down with a dry cloth. What would you put it in?
Lascar thought you were trolling me first when I looked that up lol. A lascar was a sailor or militiaman from the Indian Subcontinent
Seems a lot more in-depth than what I need. I'll keep looking trying to find something like the hc-100+ probe that just shows a 24 hour high low for rh and temp.

I use a WH8040 off amazon with good results. It controls and displays RH to .1% and is calibratable. I don't do anything to protect my sensor it hangs out under a ledge where i don't mist. It doesn't have a high low memory but keeps everything within spec.

most humidity meters aren't accurate over 95%. if you get a humidistat wet it usually doesn't work, at least temporarily. my $300 analog humidstat (from fungi.com) is pretty much worthless over 95% so I just use a timer now. especially since it shorted 'on' for 2 days while i was away and ruined a shiitake crop.
