What to do with small patch
    #22161799 - 08/29/15 05:49 PM (8 years, 5 months ago)

So out on my first mushroom hunt I found a small patch of what I believe to be active mushrooms on the grassy fields of a huge retirement community in tacoma. The grass is very well manicured except for where I found these, close to the fence behind a few huge bushes. I believe they are stuntzii. They are very small, barely poking through the grass. Do I leave them to grow for a few days risking someone else finds them or is there a way to dig the soil up around them and grow them at my house hoping that they grow bigger while still planted in the soil? Tips and advice are welcome!

and this is what i'm looking at:

http://www.shroomery.org/8461/Which-psilocybin-mushrooms-grow-wild-in-my-area

Arizona
Gymnopilus junonius
Panaeolus cinctulus
Psilocybe hopii
Psilocybe mescaleroensis
Psilocybe strictipes

what you have pictured is none of the above

however, its not totally out of the question that someone in the retirement home has a guerrilla grow in the laundry room and dump their substrate out back for you to find it giving a last effort.  but pretty close.

Any chance you could take more pics and a spore print?
I would be so excited if this weather we are having turned into an early fall.
I'm anxious to see what pops up, please let us know. Oh, and I've noticed some pan foes that look like young stuntziis.... In a retirement community, with well manicured lawns 80 miles north of you.
