I heard about people in prison putting toothpaste on orange peels and letting it rot....then eating it. Or something along those lines. Now I must use the Google Machine.

Probably just high from eating toxic chemicals in toothpaste. There is no proof that ergot or any other psychoactive fungus grows with this method.
It even says on the tube if a little bit is swallowed to call poison control.

Wow just read that last grasscity post and the guy is a straight up idiot. Says that flouride toothpaste is more natural than mushrooms
Again, just getting high from consuming large amounts of toxic chemicals in the toothpaste

I read that, it's a troll post... I'll put some quotes that he said throughout the thread.
Quote:
Works 100% and is kinda more natural(I use organic orange peels) than normal LSD and especially Shrooms.
Quote:
Because shroom are just pure poison, nothing more.
All the other posts are saying don't bash it if you don't try it, and there's no mold on it if you burn all the mold off and it leaves the LSD...

The most common fungus to grow on citrus fruit is penicillium and yeast. Just sayin, it's most likely toxins mixed with placebo. Name a mold that grows on oranges that has psychoactive effects and i'll believe that as a possibility.

Did you fast for the ayahuasca? If so, then the reintroduction of sugar into the body can definitely give a headchanging boost while under the effects of the ayahusca. In fact I've heard of people not getting any effect from it until they eat something and then they suddenly blast off.

Naw, sometimes i'll eat like 4 to 6 hours before Ayahuasca, or won't eat anything at all before taking it. And i usually am drinking on something sugary whether it's soda, powerade or tea, while on Ayahuasca.
The night this happened, i was pretty much back down from Ayahuasca, i was really only feeling the Rue's afterglow/residual effects (it was about 6 to 7 hours after taking the Rue and the Mimosa was already out of my system). So the only thing i can think of, is that perhaps Rue inhibited some CYP liver enzyme or did something else, that activated the Orange bioflavonoids' psychoactivity. I'm pretty sure it's not the MAO-A inhibition because i took Moclobemide and tried taking the C-Time 1000 pills and nadda. I am gonna get me some fresh Oranges though and perhaps try eating them after a good ol' Aya experience to see if i can get a similar effect.
I know for 100% certainty that what i experienced was not a placebo and there was indeed psychoactivity to the Orange bioflavonoids. I just wish we could figure it out.

Sometimes non-psychoactive compounds can bring a different vibe to a trip. I think that the environment and conditions surrounding a trip can be equally if not more influential on a psychedelic experience as compared to factors such as dosage. So while I wouldn't neccesarily attribute your experience to the orange's psychoactivity, I think it's great that it had a positive impact on your trip! The important thing is that your experience was beautiful, and sometimes there's no need to explain that beauty.

Ah I see. The way you phrased it, it could be taken either way.

Oranges have DMT in them... I don't think anyone posted that. Maybe that added onto your trip because of the MAOI.

The thing is though, i was completely back down from Ayahuasca before i took the Orange bioflavonoid-containing pills. I know non-psychoactive compounds can synergize with Psychedelics, but i assure you this was not the case. The DMT was already out of my system, and the psychoactive feeling i felt was not like DMT. And, it was the exact same feeling i've felt at least once before when i was a kid after eating an Orange or something. There is most definitely some psychoactivity to the Orange bioflavonoids, make no mistake, it's there, i just don't know what conditions were right for it's psychoactivity to become active.
I've got some Oranges now so i may try taking some Rue by itself in the next few days and perhaps eat an Orange or two or take the pills again around the 7 to 8 hour mark, and see if anything becomes of it.
The psychoactive feeling i experienced, was most definitely from the Orange bioflavonoids.
