Anyone want to guess on the colonization time for a 66qt monotub spawned at 1:4?

I spawned 4 monotubs with 3 quarts of hydrated spawn each (1:4 ratio). It's been 7 days so far. How much longer should I wait before birthing them?

Well, I know I have to wait until it is fully colonized. What I meant was, how long will it be before it is fully colonized? My guess is about another 7 days since I used a low ratio.

I don't even think its gonna take nearly that long it looks like its colonizing well but is really hard to tell thru the tub, its okay to take the lid off to take pics btw

Can't take the lid off. It would expose the substrate to fresh air and encourage fruiting. It certainly looks like it is colonizing well, but I definitely want to wait at least another 5 days or so to allow it to colonize a little more.

I won that giraffe in a claw machine game as a teenager. That particular giraffe kinda grew on me after that. I haven't had a whole lot of luck with claw machines since.

opening the lid to snap a picture will not encourage fruiting at all, people do it all the time I've never had a tub pin from looking at it IME they pin when they're ready and there's not a lot you CAN do to rush it

Really? I was under the impression that opening the lid could potentially induce fruiting and stall colonization. I always wondered how people got such clear pictures of their substrate through the plastic lids. I guess I was wrong on that one. I definitely want to wait a few more days before putting my tubs into fruiting, as I can still see a little bit of a brownish color from the coir. Are you using 3 quarts for a 1:4 ratio? I usually assume that a brick plus verm and gypsum usually expands to about 12 quarts. I always used 6 quarts in the past, but I like the idea of only using half that amount for my monos. I assume that yield will be reduced slightly, but I am confident that the yield per quart of spawn added will be much higher than with a 1:1 or 1:2 ratio.

i stuff poly tightly in a top hole for spawn run a lot, and its fine. fahtster used to fan his tubs thru spawn run.
full colonization #1 pinning trigger. if u use a top layer of coir, sometimes it gets weird with pinning times/colonization, but even mixed tubs won't pin till its done unless there is weird problem.
I'm sure many people here have accidentally not taped a hole or two in a few tubs thru the years, and it was still fine, i know i have
