A couple questions from Let's Grow Mushrooms videos

Hello there,
I'm starting my second pf tek grow as I royally bungled the first one - water got in my jars when sterilizing, I inoculated too soon, wasn't storing them right... I did pretty much everything wrong. After a week there's no growth of any kind (no contamination but... no growth)... so I'm going back to basics and doing 5 jars. I'm going to start again - sterilizing the jars, cleaning out the jars, and re-starting. I am however going to stick with 2 inoculation holes since I'm worried about evaporation from 4 holes... my place is a bit dry.
Luckily, i'm only out the whatever it cost for the spores.
After watching the Let's Grow Mushrooms videos and taking careful notes, I have a few questions I'm hoping you can help clarify. I wasn't able to find decent answers in the searching that I did, so apologies if this has been answered and I can't search properly.
1) The grower puts the micropore tape on before sterilizing, then inoculates through the tape after sterilization.... wouldn't this leave a hole in the tape? It's not self-sealing as near as I can figure. Should it be re-sealed?
2) He stores the jars without tin foil for incubation. I left mine on and I'm worried about gas exchange problems. How does he prevent contamination if there are holes in the tape from the above inoculation?
3) Storage - I've been storing mine in a shoebox on a shelf over the heater in my bedroom. Once the jars are inoculated, is that a good place for them? It's covered and discreet, though not hermetic, and it keeps the temperature at a good level.
Mainly I store them there because it's the cleanest place in my house - everything else is either the bathroom or an open concept living room/kitchen which I imagine is much more prone to spores.

just stick to the four holes 1)no tape is needed...before or after 2)you have a dry verm barrier, the foil is just for the sterilizing let them breathe 3)naw just leave them at room temp getting ambient lighting

It can take 2+ weeks to see growth from spores, be patient....

1 No, there will be a hol, but the tape isn't really needed, your dry verm layer is all the filter you need.
The tape is there to prevent water from getting into the holes during sterilization....after that it can be removed.

Jars/bags/tubs/trays should colonize @ room temperature getting ambient/indirect light.
Main pinning triggers are full colonization, FAE and Evaporation off of the substrate.
Light is a secondary pinning trigger. For tropical species temperature is not a pinning factor.
P. Cubensis are a tropical species. You could colonize at 70F and fruit at 80F with great results.
Light has been proven beneficial during all stages of mycellium growth. Mushrooms like mammals have a circadian rhythm.
You want ambient/indirect light(on a 12/12 schedule preferably) for colonization and consolidation.
You want direct/intense 6500K light on a 12/12 schedule for fruiting.
Optimal temps are mid 70s throughout the whole grow, but anywhere from 65F-80F is acceptable.
Incubation is outdated/uneeded unless temps in the range stated above cannot be kept.
The inside of the jar is always a few degrees warmer than the outside because the mycellium produces heat..mycellium tends to stall at temps above 83F , and contams thrive.
Fruiting at cooler temps tends to produce denser, meatier fruits, while fruiting at higher temps will often produce hollow, less dense stems.
Mycelium should be exposed to ambient room light from day of inoculation as has been known for many years. Light is not a pinning trigger until after full colonization and an increase in air is given, and even then it's a secondary pinning trigger. RR
