Unknown white polypore

Found in New York, in a forest adjacent to a lake, on a downed oak tree (see pix). Smell is very oyster-like and clean, almost fragrant. 2 - 4". Flesh is bright white and has a density similar to a store-bought button mushroom.

Can't seem to find a match in my field guide, although my "best guess" is Tyromyces chioneus or "White Cheese Polypore." Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Please bear with me, I'm still learning to ID stuff, and lack confidence in my skills.

I see similar mushrooms quite a bit where i'm at. I too would like to know what they are and if they're edible.
I found a ton while hunting for ganoderma not long ago but i just left them to do their thing.

Have identified it as Tyromyces chioneus or "White Cheese Polypore." Non-edible. Apparently very common.
