I'm not sure why one of its side effects is nosebleeds but if you're on bloodthinners then you should stop eating or drinking reishi. You'll be fine though. I would lay down for an hour and see if it all passes.

Just experimenting with high doses and I guess it has something to do with adenosine .

do you know about how much grams of reishi the dosages you took are?
i also think it is just because of the blood thinning properties

If you have any diagnosed blood conditions or have a family member that does, I would highly suggest you stop taking such high amounts. If you experience any unexplained or easily provoked bruising, red spots on your skin, or any bleeding from the gums you need to go see a doctor immediately.

OK well I'm one year out from being a medical doctor, so take what I say with a slight amount of seriousness, just making sure you're aware of what things to worry about if this happens again.

Looks like no adverse effects occur with amounts of 4g of extract daily for 10 days, however the study shown below was a small sample size.
Adverse Reactions Reported adverse reactions from reishi include dizziness, dry mouth, stomach upset, nosebleed, bone pain, skin irritation, diarrhea, and constipation. 2 , 31
In a small, placebo-controlled trial designed to determine adverse reactions related to reishi use, 4 g of extract daily for 10 days taken by healthy adults resulted in no differences between participants receiving reishi and those taking placebo. 48 No changes in blood CD4, CD8, or CD19 were observed, and insignificant increases in CD56 were noted. 48
Ganodermic acid S and adenosine-related compounds found in reishi are thought to cause platelet inhibition, and a protease compound has been demonstrated to competitively inhibit thrombin-fibrinogen binding in in vitro experiments. However, another placebo-controlled trial using 1.5 g of extract daily for 4 weeks did not result in any changes in platelet or hemostatic function. 49
Toxicology Research reveals little information regarding toxicity with the use of reishi mushroom. A mean lethal dose has been estimated to be 10 to 21 g per kg body weight. Animal experiments have tested dosages up to 38 g/kg.

Yea 4g seems about right I took a dose of about 14gs without taking it for a week and got the nosebleed but nevertheless felt good and face was warm and full of color so the dizziness was unlike opiate and unnatural as in different from dizziness brought on by pain / trauma more like an overactive immune effect , I also took it with a high dose of Panax ginseng (red Chinese ) extract and a multi with iron . Possibly overdid it ... Was also fasting for 5 hours
