Is it common to get knocked out with nitrous for extensive cavities?
    #22155833 - 08/28/15 10:27 AM (8 years, 5 months ago)

I have like 15-20 cavities cuz I am irregular with brushing and imn pretty scared of the dentist to be honest.

I havent had a check up in 8 years cuz im too scared to go.

I dont want my cavities getting worse and I want teeth when im older so I NEED TO GO. But Im scared of the process. Ive never had a cavity before so I dont know what to expect, and since I have many many of them I presume its going to be a lengthly procedure to clean them out and fill them in.

Is it common to be knocked out for stuff like this? Id REALLY rather be asleep so I dont hear the drills and feel the pressure and grinding.

Goodness I hope I get knocked out

I think the dentist would maybe do 2-3 at a time, and no they will not knock you out for cavities.

They will give you Novocain and numb up your mouth, you won't feel anything.

I wouldn't really speculate what your issues are until they take x-rays and a full examination, good luck.

Man you need to brush your teeth from now on dude. Once when you wake up and right before bed at the minimum. How do people get that many cavities.

Brush your teeth everyday,
then babe you’ll have a beautiful smile.
Smile, smile, smile,
my baby’s got a beautiful smile.
After breakfast, lunch and dinner each day,
brush all that food away.
Listen what your mamma say,
got to fight tooth decay.
Brush them ’til they’re clean and bright,
brush them ’til they’re pearly white.
Morning, noon and night,
and then smile, smile, smile.
Hey yeah, my baby’s got a beautiful smile.
Smile, smile, smile,
my baby’s got a beautiful…

How do you know you have 15-20 cavities without going to the dentist in 8 years?  It's not bad, it's some loud noises and scraping and grinding.  There's little to no pain.  If you get knocked out you run the risk of your dentist raping you in your twilight stage.

My spouse is terrified of dentists. Bad childhood trauma from braces and getting the roof of her mouth separated. You can go to a dentist who treats kids, tell them of your fear etc and they may take you as a patient. Worked for her. She got knocked out (not cheap though) and I doubt insurance would cover nitrous for cavities. We paid cash anyway.
