So I got a good deal on this specific blower model ( http://www.grainger.com/product/DAYTON-Blower-1TDT7 ) but now i'm worried that I bought a blower motor that's too weak I think I remember reading a post from RR that said your blower needs to be rated for 400cfm @ 1" SP and this one's only rated for 358 cfm @ .8" SP does anyone out there know if I fucked up buying this motor??

depends on how big your filter in square feet. all the math is on the shroomery most of it's in threads in advance mycology if you use t he advance feature on the search engine.
don't forget to change between cubic feet and square feet or mix them up

Its easier to match a blower to a filter than the other way around.
How big of a hood are you looking to build? Mines 18x24 and its a really good size for me, although its a *little* too short for spawn bags so I still have to tilt them. In retrospect I wish I either went for 24x24 to fit the bags or 12x24 to cut down on the bulk. But its more than comfortable for everything I need to do
Whats that blower blow @ free air? I feel like that would fit perfect with an 18x 24 but I havent gone thru the math

Yeah I was thinking of doing a 12 x 24 I didn't wanna go to big with it because it's going to be in storage when I don't need it. Is the general rule of thumb 400 cfm @ 1" SP for a 12 x 24? I thought i read that somewhere, anyone hear that before? I'm searching but I can't seem to find it anymore. :P

Mine is 549@free air, so it might be a little powerfull for that filter but Im not sure, Ive heard you can block part of the intake to power it down a little anyways. Or you could go for 18x24
But it might be just fine Im not sure
