    #2215045 - 01/02/04 02:46 PM (13 years, 25 days ago)

FIrst time using WBS and I followed the tek on the main site. However, I am a bit worried about the moisture levels in my jars. The WBS looks quite dry is this mormal or should it bet wet and sticking together?

my foaf just soaks it for 24 hrs then drains it and puts it in the pc for 1.5 hrs.it should be clumped together after pcing it and then you have to shake the crap out of it to loosen it up.if it isn't clumped together you might have over cooked it.
did you seal the holes with electrical tape?i do

yeah it will tend to look dry, thats normal.
if you still doubt the water content then sacrifice a jar,tip it out and see for your self, those grains will be loaded with moisture.

It will seem dry, but thats just fine. As long as you followed instructions.

after pcing it without overcooking it,it should clump together, also ,if the jars are sealed when you pc it, it shouldn't lose any moisture.
i've tried soaking for 5 minutes, then drained and soaking for 24 hrs, then drained and its worked both ways.

Where do you overcook it ;in PC or by simmering process?.That's the part I 'm confused about.Because even if without simmerin if you PC millet for too long it seems to me to be a little bit overcooked,softer.Thanks.
