Jars not growing

Hey guys,
So I've been cultivating for several years now and never had this problem. Ever since I recently moved into an apartment in the city my cube cultures will not grow. Whether started from MS, agar and even trying various strains they just go stagnant if its a cube. Below is an image showing what I mean, on the right is two cube jars transferred from an agar plate that was started from MS. The jar on the left was inoculated at the same time but is a scarlet bracket fungus (local Australian fungus) and is fully colonized.

Its usually 24C in my room, and the jars are stored on a shelf in my cupboard. Also they are growing on WBS

What kind of filters are you using. If they tyvek, they may have shrunk and no longer provide sufficient GE to completely colonize.
Different bird seed brand cuasing problems? You're grains do look kinda weird in color to me. Doesn't look like a US WBS grain composition (millet + milo.) The same preps may not work well. Another aussi on here had some WBS turning back on him recently.

I spawned some popcorn casings and had double-overlay cause I didn't put enough hydrogen peroxide in my automated aquarium mister. I only got one mushroom so I cut off the head part where the seeds fall from and put it in a jar of LC and sprayed it all over a tin of PF cakes I made with gravel, cardboard, and bisquick in my microwave. I think it will be good cause B+ is so potent. Triggered yet? Only a square would say "a cube is a cube."
No, this does not look right...

Yeh it was a homebrand variety that didn't have as much variety. They are tyvek filters but that was there first run through the PC and the jar on the left has the exact same GE

I would imagine whole oats or brown rice would be available options.
Are the two jars you noc'd with a wedge stalled? Your grain looks dry, perhaps not fully hydrated to me.
Sounds like it's not a GE problem if that's new tyvek.

Actually Tyvek's pore sizes expand as you PC them, allowing more GE and contaminates in. So whether he's using new Tyvek or not it wouldn't change anything in the GE department.
Jars need a lot less GE then people think. There are tons of air pockets in the grains, not to mention the huge empty space we normally have at the top of the jar.
What's that Gypsum looking stuff in the jars? Gypsum normally made my jars colonize very slowly. Pic 3 has it in abundance over there. The wedge probably just needs more time, chances are your grains are a little on the dry side. They look it at least. Also, how long has it been?

I thought it was verm..? If that's gypsum holy shit.
I'd honestly trust stuffed poly more than tyvek as a filter. Especially for grains where you're shaking the jars.
Can we see pics of your agar cultures? Take a look at this thread. Look at the amazing organization of the clean stuff. Did you strive for that?
Do you let your plates get overgrown? Believe it or not that's a good way to tell if there's hidden bacteria (to make sure It doesn't stall). You can also run a transfer over antibacteral agar. Though I have found this unnecessary.

Oh the white chunks are actully fragments of sea shells not gympsum just had a look at the picture!
Yeh I've been cultivating for many years and do a bit of work at a microbiology lab. All work is done in front of a flow hood and I don't think it would be bacteria as nothing else seems to be active/no odd smells coming from the jar.
Still pretty stumped :/ I think ill re-try from MS and do a rye grow and see how that works out!

I'd re-try those, why are you putting sea shells in your grains? Just try prepping them normal

Not to mention they're a pain in the ass to keep cutting.

I've used tyvek fine for years.
The brand of birdseed I got came with it already in it, I didn't add it!

Get a cleaner brand
Also Tyvek WORKS, I just find it a PITA compared to SFDs.
