Still though. Nice!

This was both my first graft and my first regraft. It's on Myrtillocactus and I'm still trying to decide if it's just badly deformed, monstrose or something else.

I'd say it's in the deformed and something else category. Very pretty.

It's a weird plant. It was grafted to Pereskiopsis in 2010 and regrafted to Myrtilocactus in 2013. It was a perfectly normal button up until the time it was regrafted, except for one thing: flowered its ass off and never produced a single fruit, regardless of what I polinated it with. Since regraft, it has been growing like this.

is it just williamsii? or is it koehresii or some other variation. I do believe there are self sterile forms of loph...maybe someone else knows a little more about them than I do...just trying to think of possibilities.

Given the pink stamens, people would say L. jourdaniana. It is a seedling from a plant I bought as L. williamsii and that is self-fertile - guaranteed! - but its offspring is apparently sterile. I crossed it with several other Lophs I have and none produced fruits. I have a sibling of this plant on its own roots that has finally bloomed this year, it will be interesting to see if it's sterile as well or "normal".

She's beautiful LSoares
I love those bright pink stamens and the twisting shape she has.
How long have you had her?

It was sowed in 2009, grafted to Pereskiopsis in 2010 and regrafted to Myrtilocactus in 2013. So, it's its 7th season.

Wow! Is she still growing rapidly in size or is there a certain point in which loph scions slow way down?

She was never a very fast grower, except for the first year or two after grafting to Peres. I don't have enough experience with grafts, but I believe that after the individual heads reach a certain size they will start to proliferate rather than grow.

I have maybe 20 at the moment but some are old pereskiopsis grafts that have pretty much stalled. I haven't done many in quite a while but I started up again recently. I did 6 or so last week and about half seem to have taken. The scions were pups from caespitose peyote degrafts that I had put in some peroxide and left them in too long so they're a bit messed up. I did one graft to Selenicereus grandiflorus that failed, but an impale graft of the top portion of the Selenicereus onto Pereskiopsis seems to have taken.

As promised, I came back to the thread. You can read what I did, in the image its self. I think I did pretty good, for low tech. this was my first real attempt at grafting.
