Recommend me some philosophy books
    #22145776 - 08/26/15 11:08 AM (8 years, 5 months ago)

My favorites philosophy authors so far have been Albert Camus and Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi.

It is a topic that interests me deeply, I just don't know what authors or specific books to delve into next

well
i used to be really into it
good start of course is ramm dass - be here now, that's basically the classic
if you wanna not read blatantly eastern ideals

aldous huxley - island is philosophy in novel format
and
robert a heinlein - the moon is a harsh mistress is philosophy entangled in sci-fi

alan watts - this is it is another good zen read

I did a google search for "Best philosophy books" and have found some pretty good ones.

I think I might look into this one next:
http://www.amazon.com/Mans-Search-Meaning-Viktor-Frankl/dp/080701429X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1440609055&sr=8-1&keywords=mans+search+for+meaning

Also, I have heard GREAT things about Atlas Shrugged, zappaisgod. Also on my radar

It is a treatise hidden in a rather mediocre  novel.  It is entertaining but certainly not art.

 once a book starts getting into overly sexual themes I typically lose interest I get enough of that from movies/music/everywhere so I like my books to be more old fashioned - I mostly read exclusively 50's sci-fi for that reason (and it's also amazing stuff).

Eckhart Tolle is another great author that delves into philosophy and spirituality. He can be a bit redundant at times but I got a lot out of "A New Earth"
