Pins

I've got some pretty amazing pins going. Several clusters of 10-20 pins each with some almost 1/2 inch in length and 1/4 inch in diameter. They seem to be growing at a pretty steady pace but i was wondering if they would just shoot up at a certain point. I watched a few time lapses and it seems like the pins went from being pins to full grown in a matter of 2-3 days. Could this be an issue with FAE? I'm trying to fan 3-4 times a day while misting. Also could i be misting too much? my RH is around 60-70 which is why i might be excessively misting. I just have the cake sitting in some wet perlite in an aquarium with plastic wrap covering it.

Just be patient. They grow faster when you don't watch them all the time as well. I promise.

Well, the RH should be around 90% around pins. Why do you think you are misting too much when your RH is only 60-70?
Anyway, patience above all.

If the pin has formed a chamber RH of around 65% 70% is fine. The only place a really high RH is needed is right at the sub surface. Think microclimate. People have fruited in open air with killer results. People freaking about 95% RH fruiting chambers don't know what they are talking about.

A moist, but not drenched casing layer is all the micro-climate you need on the surface...
