The rule of thumb for boletes (at least in north america) if it does not have red pores, and does not stain blue, and is not bitter, you can eat it.

You should not get poisoned following this rule. but you may skip over a bunch of tasty mushrooms.

I believe the rule is if it has red pores don't eat without ID, if bruise blue and has yellow, red, or brown pores don't eat without ID. There are edible that break rule and bluing with white pores is okay.
